The sun, the moon and the stars;

Druna does not tell anyone of her plans, not even her twin. That itself says alot considering not much is kept from her counterpart. However, for the first time in her young life, Druna wants something that is just her own. A secret.
She waits until she is sure that father is occupied with her fiery aunt (well mother used to make a few snide remarks about the silver queen being her sister - the twins had come to their own conclusion on that) before she puts her plan into action. Erayna is busy chasing after their youngest sibling, well half sibling / babysitting responsibility (when mother disappeared for her "alone time"). She waits until everyone is caught up in their own small world that sneaking past the borders is almost child's play.
She does not wait for a repremanding call, nor does she linger in case her lavender skin is glimpsed against the stain of red sand and golden brush. Instead, like a bird freed from its cage, she charges towards the ocean as fast as her slender legs can manage to carry her. If her twin noticed her absense she does not know, if Ra happened to catch sight of her on his vigilent patrols she pretends to ignore. Instead she is intent on the freedom that lingered just beyond the shallow seas.
The temperature change is not something she expected to find, but the painted lavender girl is happy nonetheless. Breath hangs in thick vaporous curls around the waterlogged rivulets of mane that cling to her cheeks. Small, futed ears perk high atop her crown as bright silver blue eyes take in the snow covered lands beyond the shoreline. Cautiously, one foot in front of the other, the sleek mare moves through the shadows of the forest of skeletal trees to emerge onto the meadow blanketed in white.
For a moment she stares in wonder. Having lived every moment of her young life in Salem, she never imagined such amounts of snow could be possible! Of course she and Erayna have awoken a few times to a spattering of snow here and there on the coldest of winter mornings. On occasion, the deep canyons nearest the borders of the Badlands kept a patch of snow for a day or two in it's shadows. If the girls ever managed to resist the urge to play in it (which was not often). To see it here, to see so much of it! It made her feel small, smaller than she has ever felt and made the absense of her twin even more painfully obvious. Perhaps she should have told Erayna her plan? 'NO! She would just tell Da and ruin it.' she murmurs to herself, giving her proud head a shake. No. If she wanted to explore the islands, she would have to do it alone. At least, this time anyway.
