How about Bill Belichick and Nick Saban going unemployed within 24 hours of each other. Saban retired; Belichick seemingly canned.
It's pretty hard to stack any other college or NFL coach against those two and say they were as good as; let alone better.
I'm guessing Belichick will coach somewhere next year. I read he may want to pass Don Shula's record of 347 wins. That may take a few more seasons depending on where he lands. Maybe he'll go to Seattle. It's rainy out there all the time and the weather will match his personality.
As for Saban - not sure where he goes next. I can't see him spending a lot of time doing TV broadcasts. Is he a good golfer. Replies:
