Fixed Odds Wagering & Going Forward Posted on January 13, 2024 at 11:21:27 AM by sheffwed
Note this bill currently being pushed in NY State would allow Fixed Odds wagering on horse racing, so that horse racing can join the very successful revenue generating online wagering platforms so that people can bet on their phones
Would be nice if Jai Alai had a lobbyist pushing for such things across the US/World (understood and agreed that venues only getting a small percentage of wagering revenue is an issue, but more wagering and awareness would help Dania and its casino business)
Side note, speaking of promotion: it would have been nice if Jai Alai had been an Olympic sport in Paris which is this summer, that too could have been useful for promoting the sport - not sure why that didn't happen given its France, too bad - there are enough countries with players now
The sport needs someone thinking out of the box at all times on global opportunities, even if its just going back to its roots and playing locally in the Basque region, but making wagering available for at least some of the performances from there, as a sport, on sports betting apps and wagering platforms around the world, maybe broadcast into venues on big screens like in Macau or similar Replies:
