Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

the wretched and joyful

Marko and Kristjan snap their heads in unison toward the sound of much larger hooves that signal the end of their private conversation. Kristjan looks at Garmr with mild irritation, his ears twisted halfway back. Marko glares with outright hostility, ears pinned, lip curled in the beginnings of a snarl. They both know the bigger stallion, mostly by reputation, and have never taken issue with him; but Marko is quick to anger and his welcome is chilly.

Despite the brothers’ initial apprehension, Garmr speaks to them with an air of comraderie, and they reign in their annoyance. Marko is the first to relax — not one to give up a thing when he wants it, the painted dun is intrigued by Garmr’s implication. Kristjan remains more or less indifferent at Marko’s side; unlike his younger brother, who swings freely along the spectrum from bitter enemies to thick as thieves, Kris is more a stable, solitary sort. His fuse is long, but so is the path to his affections.

Marko, ignoring Kristjan, settles into a more comfortable stance and rolls his dun-striped shoulders in a shrug. “Elaborate,” he says, the word carrying a tone of simple curiosity and more than a hint of greed.
