Canis is immediately glad that his eyes hadn't bulged out when he spoke. Encelia's eyes flew up to meet his. He would never have wanted her to think that he didn't mean to say it. He had no idea what to expect from traveling with another, let alone a mare and one so delicately pretty. For a moment, the young stallion can't read her expression. Then she smiles, and everything is right with the world.

The warmth bloomed in his chest, and Canis knew he'd done something right. "I could? Gosh, she sounded as breathless as he surely felt. She wavered toward him. "I- I would like that very much, Canis." Her chin tucked, and Canis managed to restrain most of his reaching toward her. It was like gravity. The silver stallion did let his brow furrow in some confusion when she talked about trying not to embarrass him. "I'm the one who came bumbling up to you, remember?"

The blue and brown of his eyes watched her quietly. She was looking back out over the water, back to Salem, back to home. Canis took a last look for himself, too, and wondered when next he'd see his parents and baby sister. Wouldn't he have so much to tell them? This thought brought a curve of a smile to his pale maw. "Do you know where you want to go first?" Something new surges in him, a renewed sense of excitement about the wandering ahead. He looks to Encelia now with a thoughtful, but excited smile.

"North. I think we'll head north."
