The home run is attempted a lot, but works less than attempted...in my opinion. It is a rare shot. Today's players do not seem to know much about that shot or how to attempt it.
Best ones I ever saw were from way back in the 1980's from frontcourter Charola. He knew exactly how to do it and where to aim. He would drill it very low to the front wall with a lot of lift. When he threw it, it was always a winner.
The rarest shot players do not seem to want to learn, is the forehand rebote carom. Aperri, also at Orlando, was the best at it. Goiko has it, but very rarely tries it anymore. No players are even looking for it, so all Aperri had to do was carom it anywhere, and the frontcourter was left standing still to watch it be a winner. Never understood why today's frontcourter's won't learn the shot. Replies:
