Vadim

stallion | draft x | dunalino pintaloosa | 18hhs

Vadim listened to her list the things she wanted and found himself wanting to say he could offer everything she desired. He had been to every island and did not mind travel. The Badlands offered an open sky for her to see the stars at night. While he already had children (not that he had been a great father so far) and enjoyed cuddling up at night rather than spend it alone. Experienced in battle thanks to his Lagoon life, Vadim could even offer her safety and security. At least as much as any other stallion could. Instead, he closed his eyes and made a thoughtful sound at first. As if considering everything she had talked about, rather than spewing promises like a giddy colt. “I don’t think your list is unattainable.” Vadim said. “In fact, I think you should hold on tight to it. So that you can make sure your happy with where you end up in life.”

The stallion wasn’t sure where such wisdom might come from. Perhaps he should listen to his own words for his future, and give up such reckless endeavors that brought him here to the Crossing. A heavy sigh escaped his lips before he looked away briefly, trying to find the words to his stupidity, if there were ever any right ones. “I’ve been held prisoner in the Shore, the Badlands and the Inlet.” he confessed. “It was a humbling experience to the stallion I was before.” Vadim found his green eyes straying back to the young mare, his ears tipping forward then. “I found my true home during those times. I plan to go back to the Badlands, where hopefully they will accept me permanently….”

Vadim found his heart beginning to pound, knowing what he was about to ask could either set in motion a future with this mare. Or it would be the deciding factor that he would never see her again. Regardless, Vadim felt the need to ask. “Would you be willing to give a stranger the chance to fill that list?” Vadim was careful not to seem too eager, not wanting her to feel overwhelmed or pressured. “Would you be willing to wait until after I could find a permanent home to do so?”
