"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

DEDICATE YOUR LIFE TO TRUTH.

Crickets chirped off in the land, their symphony creating a sweet love story. The glowing bodies of fireflies lit up the dark night, the land bathed in a steady yellow glow. Frogs croaked in the distant pond, birds sang their evening symphonies, and owls hooted off in the trees. Horses moved through the land with trails steadily placed on the earth of the Shore, but the gorgeous lightning dance of the little fireflies was undisturbed until their bodies seemed to dim and the land held its breath.

Rising from the ocean with two colored hooves, a red stallion's body reflected a faint orange light as the fireflies held their faint glow. The birds silenced their song and the frogs quit croaking, as if they knew something was on the shores of this home and making their body known. The vast landscape of the Shore on Atlantis was waiting for the pen to drop, the little change that would have this whole place in a new state of work. It was like the whole Atlantis island fell silent just as the stallion lifted his head towards the sky and sent out his cry, the land almost quaking as the equine let his voice claim the home he had taken fairly, the lead Romaro having been silent for too long.

Shaking his head, the red stallion blinked his blue eyes before looking behind him, searching for his love. His body held a baited breath before he turned to face the depths of his home and rose truly from the waves, his tangled and matted mane slowly working on loosening its dangerous grip that the Lagoon had upon it. Mud still fell from the horse’s body in little rivulets, their dark body reflecting a murky yellow from the fireflies. The brown droplets slowly fell down the horses sides as he moved then, his hooves taking a trail he could easily see under the glow of the bugs.

Lifting his nose to the wind, the red dun named Nahawi watched the moon fall in the distance as he gave a faint smile, the pain of what he had been fighting and losing for slowly ebbing away. He was still injured, his body slowly hea.ing from the infection that coursed through his body. However, the stallion had been soaking in the ocean, the salt water having worked as best it could while he had lived in the Lagoon. Now? The stallion let out a heavy sigh and perked his ears with a faint smile that grew larger by the minute. He was home... He was in a place he could rule as he wished with his best friend and Empress Aase at his side.

A few weeks had passed since he had claimed the Shore. Nahawi had been taking his time in covering the boarders with his scent and it warmed his heart to know Snapdragons scent was on one side of him and Tyr on the other. He had not met the fourth horse yet and technically he had not met Tyr, but he knew with Oswin in the Ridge, Tyr could not be a bad stallion. Shaking his head, the red dun slowly moved to the beach, his tail lashing at his hocks as he stared out over the ocean. He had been away from the Lagoon long enough now that his fur held the strong scent of the Shore and he knew he would be found quickly by the Lagoon brothers if he went back, but he needed to go back for just one horse.

Moving his hooves forward, Nahawi dipped himself into the ocean and let his body glide through the water and to the crossing island. The ocean was oddly calm, as if it knew a storm was coming, but Nahawi did not let it deter him from where he was going. His red ears were perked forward, his long mane and tail trailing in the water behind him, and his hooves kicking at the water. His heart raced a million miles an hour in his chest, but he continued on with his nose softly fluttering.

Pulling himself onto the solid land of the Crossing, Nahawi looked about himself before turning towards the Lagoon. His hooves pushed through the grasses, his ears slowly tucking to his head as he took in a deep breath. Anxiety curled like a boa constrictor around his heart, making it harder to breathe as the organ was pinched. His lungs ached and he swore he could see shadows around his vision, but the stallion shook his head every so often to clear his head and eyes. He had a string of thoughts that would turn into words, but the red dun did not speak them.

Weaving through the grasses until he was right at the border, Nahawi looked towards the muck and mire of his past home. He had come to the islands, lived two years in their depths in that Lagoon. Now, he was almost fully grown, his body littered in scars, and a brain clearer than it had ever been since he joined. He was one push from falling into the darkness of this place and he no longer felt the demons racing in his head. He had sought out truth and had found it one day staring at the sky, knowing he would never change the Lagoon. Now? He had the Shore and it would be as amazing as he and Aase could make it.

Lifting his head once he was fully stopped, Nahawi sent out his call to a certain painted stallion in the depths of the Lagoon. Rehoboam, his one friend here in this slippery place. With Nahawi gone, the bad would grow, but he would aid Atlantis in staying strong. He was strong and so was Tyr. Snapdragon had the strength of her mind and he would learn what Arroyo had, but for now he needed the stallion he called for to come to him.

The question was though… would Rehoboam hear him out and come to Atlantis as his sub-lead?
