Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

the razor to the knife |

The pin of the red dun’s ears at Peyote’s initial question did not settle the unease and frustration that was building up inside him. He had never been the sort to have long-winded conversations or even speak more than a handful of words at a time if he did speak, and it often increased his irritation when others did. The world could be navigated well enough with physical action; Peyote learned young that when someone spoke a lot, most of what they said was a lie.

Nahawi only asked him one thing, though. What do you want to know? That was a tricky question and Peyote briefly floundered. What did he want to know? There were so many things. Why did the boss constantly leave for the Forest? Why had the angry behemoth that’d chased him out known that Nahawi could tell Peyote not to bother them?

Nahawi came to a stop before him, irritation clear throughout his body. Peyote was irate as well, his dark tail lashing out behind his haunches and his blue eyes hard. He didn’t often look angry (maybe only when he was trying to intimidate a prize he wanted to chase) but he did then, and it was then that he truly looked like his father’s son.

“They know you.” Three words, quietly spoken, but just as accusatory as his tone had been previously. The energy was building in the air between them, something angry and restless. He could see the boss was in no shape to fight, and Peyote didn’t have any desire to go to a physical altercation with the boss. Despite his personal feelings of Nahawi, Psychedelic had often taught him the importance of respecting the position of the Lagoon boss.

Peyote let a pause rest between them and then he asked the one thing he knew he wanted the Boss to answer. “Why?”

ooc: as this is an old thread and a lot has changed for nahawi, it's absolutely okay if you want to end the thread here! but if you want to continue it, please feel free!
