MY OWN FAULT.

Laying in the large lake, Rutger pulled in shuddering breaths that had the water rippling. He was avoiding pulling in sand with each breath, but the large greying stallion could give a real care less. Anything would be better than the resentment that is coating his blood and wanting him to go forth and dethrone his niece. He wanted to take Paradise for himself, but he was not trained enough in such endeavors and his soul was not trained enough with anger to even step foot back where he had been run from. Currently he would do best laying here to die, but fate had something else knocking on his door.


Hearing hooves behind him, Rutger slowly raised his head and set his gaze upon a stallion of a darker palette. It was odd to see a horse come up to him, but Rutger did not speak his feelings as she sat up just enough to be on his stomach with a groan. He had not wanted to rise at all, but he wasn't about to lay there slabbed out like a beached whale for someone to pounce on just because he was a beautiful morsel to eat. He did look handsome, or so he thought to himself on the daily when he saw his reflection.


“No.” Was his one word reply, his green eyes latching onto the stallion as he raised a quizzical brow. “Come to steal me to the Lagoon?” The stench on the darker horse finally registered as he spoke the question, almost begging in a way to be taken and given a home. Rutger did not care if he was a pawn, a scapegoat, or even a totem for the edges of anywhere anymore. He needed a home, one where he could grow his strength and go take down his niece in the years to come.
