half agony, half hope

She can feel the hungry weight of his gaze on her figure as she slices back and forth before him, and though it is not not predatory, it is also appreciative, and the excitement of being appreciated far outweighs the potential risk. This nameless stallion is handsome, painfully so, with his midnight dark coat, and intelligent eyes, and powerful build. Every masculine ounce of him awakens her instincts and sets her so on edge she cannot help but feel alive with possibility.

This was exactly what she had hoped for. Exactly what she had been missing.

As a girl, Corvette had always imagined that her father might one day trade her off to solidify some alliance or another, or that she would sneak away to the bed of a lover without a goodbye. When neither future had manifested, she had settled into a life that had been comfortable only because it was familiar, but had never satisfied her. She didn't want to travel, nor to wander, nor to search for a meaning she'd never find. She wanted something real and tangible, she'd just been too afraid to go after it.

Until now.

His lips brush against her skin, leaving a wake of tingling skin and she leans into it, her neat ears tucked into the tangle of her mane. She doesn't pause in her stride but launches upward into a leap that would likely send their shoulders crashing against one another and ducks her chin with a shake of her head - the seriousness of the gesture somewhat ruined by the eager grin stretched across her lips.

He turns and she takes a stride the wrong way before correcting herself, eagerly accepting the bait that he had offered and falling into step with him. Corvette allowed him a stride or two before reaching out as he had done to nip at him, although she was neither chaste nor gentle, but reached for the proud arch of his withers. Corvette had no ability to claim others, of course, but she knew well enough what a claim was. If their positions had been reversed, she also knew she would not hesitate to claim him either. She could do far worse in finding herself a potential partner... at least judging by the past five minutes.

The slender gray slowed and hoped he would do the same, drawing off to the side so that he would circle toward her. Her voice was breathy given their burst of exercise, but eager. "Now," she huffed, tossing her head again and taking a few steps to match him if he had obliged her in slowing down. "Take me home."

Command issued, Corvette laughed - the sound free and loud - and then dashed toward him again with a flick of her tail, hurrying them both forward.
