King and Coral snakes appear very similar. The latter is venomous. Several years back a young woman picked up a ringed snake near the Wekiva River thinking it was a King snake….it wasn’t!
Here’s a rhyme to remember: “red touching yellow can kill a fellow, red touching black is a friend of Jack”. Coral snakes also have a black nose.
Me, I wouldn’t hang around long enough to recite the rhyme
