Re(2): OMG Another Weather Alert Day

Yup, I got a tornado beautyshot from downtown Westmorland, not far from where the lady in a mobile home was killed. and a pretty dramatic youtube video by an amateur in that town.

TV stations are very hard to reach by the public in some places, or they don't answer their phone and dont have a mechanism set up for people to easily email video and stills to the newsroom.

Networks too, they hve this Facebook wall with graphics and videos turned OFF for commenters, and FB Message buttons turned off.

Guess they just get their news watching their competitors and waiting a day to get their hands on it.

NY and DC just dont think any news happens west of them. In 40 years after cable came along and sliced up the audience and advertisers, well newsgathering ability has just gone to shit. They don't even have trained interns to answer the phone anymore.

I get the distinct impression that short staffed news operations just quit looking for news as soon as their half hour's rundown is full and today's video is in edit. Time to go home. At least back in the day, we could get tonights news out of the morning Star...until THEY cut staff too!

Too bad.
