Between the jungle of Kisamua and the volcanic snow-capped summits of Shiromith crouches a span of harsh red rock splintered with deep canyons and shaded by fantastical rock formations that have been sculpted by the howling winds. Rough vegetation clings to cracks in the fiery stone... this is the only territory where one will see cacti and light orange sand as regular parts of the landscape. During daylight hours, the sun glares hot and bright from the purest, bluest sky; at night, when this burning eye falls below the horizon, millions of glittering stars hover like silver pinpoints across a suddenly cooled desert.
Akarosu seems like the last place a lupine might want to make their home - yet the sweeping plateaus and colorful cliff faces offer plenty to tempt any curious explorers beyond the border. In many places, a natural interconnected cave system has pocked the russet rock with shaded entrances leading to comfortable hiding spots. The plump fruit of some cacti is sweet and juicy, drawing plenty of prey to the hot climates. And of course there is no better view of the stars than here - where no cloud would dare obscure the pristine perfection of all those constellations.
