I missed "Preacher's" first event; and it seems I will prpbably miss this one also because of a turn-around at work. Sooner or later things are gonna have to lne up this year. Even if it is just support for a fellow racer or promoter, I do try and see what I can do. I still say that a lot of us are working more than you guys know to try and get some of these expansions up and producing products for this area. Don't count us out; but know that we still support your efforts to have activities based around the racing and whatever you have at the local track and in the "Golden Triangle". - I have noticed a lot of people telling anyone that whines or complains etc., that they can just "go to another track". Pay attention to our attendance at Evadale in the last 2-3 months. Ignore the trolls but dont spread influence onward and run off anybody else. Because it is evident that some racers and a lot of spectators aint coming out this year. Well spoken bro. Many consistent and dedicated, track supporting Sportsmen can't compete at this event... Since the whole crew, staff, and Management will be hosting a race that day; that far in the future...looks like they would offer a 10. 91 to 12.00 class of competition...however ,We race by the rules and get in where We fit in...Maybe if enough folks in Your et. bracket R.S.V.P. then they may offer that class...I feel Ya because if they Dont offer a 6.60 class in Index racing then I'm a tailgate spectator too...and there ain't nothin' wrong with that occasionally either... - By Eddie Frederick 5/16/2012 at 11:39:01 PM

Eric you a the biggest crybaby on here. The track is putting up the money and going to run the program the way they want to run the program. If you don't like what they are doing just move on down the road to another track and quit whinning like a baby. Maybe you can put a race on that suits you in the future. Houston outlaw race for May 12, 2012 has been canceled at Ben Bruce Memorial Raceway due to the high percentage of rain. Sorry for this cancellation but I cannot control Mother nature. I have spoken to Bonnie and we agreed not to run the High Velocity Race this Saturday due to the projected 60% chance of rain. If the percent had not been on the increase we would have tried it. There are racers coming from OK.,AR., and the Dallas area. They don't need to make the haul, at the price of fuel, just to watch it rain. Thanks for asking about the race. Eric I agree that its different and seems to be a little tougher than a regular style bracket race! However, say I dial in a 5.30, and I'm running a 6.60 car, thats a long time to be on the trans brake! Its not like you can anticiapte 1.5 seconds or so! Should he apologize for getting upset that he got said something to about doing a burn out past the stating line? I dont think so, this just proves that this is the ONLY track with that rule. Why is that a rule for index cars? Its not bracket racing. Should he apologize that he came to race an index race and turned into a bracket race? I think you are getting your complaints crossed up. MR 5.80 was not asked to leave, he loaded up and left because he lost, the race he is referring to has nothing to do with the race that turned into a bracket race it was a different race that turned into a bracket race. Regardless rather all tracks inforce the burnout rule or not the racers voted it in in Evadale and if anyone is caught drinking beer while racing the need to be tossed out on thier AZZ. chevi... go do a burnout past the tree at Houston and see what happens. And incase you didn't see down the page, there is a rule against doing burnouts past the tree. No bodys fault but his own that he didn't play by the rules. Also, he wasn't disqualified for doing the burnout, he was warned not to do it again. He was put on the trailer because he lost that round! And if he was racing and drinking, he is a bigger fool than I thought he was and deserves to be told to leave. Ok.. point made. Some rules need to be enforced. But does that negate the fact that 5.80 needs to apologize for telling a lie. He claimed he was disqualified, not true. He lost that round. He claimed they changed the rules in the middle of a race, no true. Evadale only enforced a rule. Now, it is well known that they frown on drinking. Was this person you say was asked to leave being loud or causing an issue. Were they drinking out of a bottle or displaying a beer can? Mike,as you may have seen ,there is a sign hanging on the fence as you turn off 105 going to the track that plainly states no alcohol ,no firearms.I know we have all had a few cool ones at the track,myself included.The owner doesn't want beer on the premises because of the negative influence it presents to the kids out there.Just trying to keep a clean,wholesome atmosphere for everybody.And it goes without saying that if you or any member of your crew is drinking while your car is off the trailer that it's a recipe for disaster with the caliber of cars that come to the Dale.It doesn't present a good picture to kids because they grow up thinking it's ok to drink alittle and drive,too.Is that the kind of stuff you want your kids and grandkids around?How about you, 5.80? Or does it matter to you at all? Evidently the rules donot apply to everyone.Seems I read on page 108 of the IHRA rule book about burnouts and who has the final say in matters at a SANCTIONED IHRA TRACK. - PLEASE… Leave me out of the Index complaining as it is fully operated by the track! I get bashed enough on this board. Fred is trying his best to build an INDEX program, he has been for years, if you want a place to race then I suggest you give him the support needed to make it happen. Otherwise you will be no different than all other groups that have failed over the past few years. SNS, Street Kings, Clash of the Titans, King of the Hill, ORSCA, ODRA, USOR, SORA, etc. etc. . At least Fred is still hanging in there, but that may not be the case much longer! I had a complaint brought to me at our last race by and Index racer and was told by the driver that a car was disqualified because he did a burn out across the starting line. I went to Fred and asked what happened, honestly I had no clue what the rule was but the driver was upset so I wanted to make sure it was resolved, Fred told me he did not DQ the car, he told him not to do it again, and therefore I was under the assumption the car was still in but when I went back to talk to the car driver, I was told that he had lost that round because Fred had opened his door which threw him off of his game. I ask if he wanted to re-run the pass or what he wanted me to do about it. He said no it was not fair to the other driver, but he would never run with me again and continued to load his car up. At that point there was nothing more I could do. Case closed. The index portion is fully ran and operated by the track but I tried to assist the unhappy racer. “Rented track not rented track” what the hell does that have to do with anything? This is no different than when we raced at HRP and I booked the SNS group for Index Racing. If someone racing in the Index group under the SNS umbrella came to me and complained I would have taken the issue to Gary Sangster to resolve. He would have full control of his race operation. If that is a track rule they should enforce it in the first round of qualfing. I don't have a problem with you, it's the track. When someone has a real problem with way the track is doing things these people don't try to fix, they call it hate. Why would i hate that track & make-up a wild story like this. I put a link on this website to show people, other Houston racers with a problem with they way they run things, i guess know one bother to look at it. I've made 30 passes down that track, why is it a problem on pass 31. Houston get put on the trailer, that's joke. They change this burnout rule after i put you boy in the yellow Camero on the trailer & he started crying about burning out across the line. HMP changed their business plan this year to the highly profitable grudge/tnt format as I've already told you. JG has little influence @ HMP these days. HMP used to be a favorite of mine.... not anymore. - Dumb is spreading. Still same problem, Delay box will release your button, but does not tell you when to bring your motor up. So you have to stay on your motor the whole time, because like i said the tree doesn't cycle down. Do me a favor think about what saying for a few seconds & it will sink-in. One more thing, we can't run delay box or throttle stops in SNS or Mitchell Bell Index racing it's posted on both of their web site, but i forgot your track crew just make up the rules from round to round. As a fellow racer; maybe I missed something and Im curious...what rule was changed in the middle of what race? Ive raced brackets and index's at Evadale for 6 years and if there was ever any variation to a race it was decided by unanamous vote by the racers for the racers...I know it's hard to please all the people all the time. I'm just trying to understand what part of the story did I miss? It's really not cool for drivers on street or track to be drinking beer , but spectators with designated drivers have never had any problems there to my knowledge...had more racers been there on the 21st, the jackpot would have been higher...but We all had a great race and the jackpot money was there... - To answer the question below about the index race, the answer is NO had maybe 8 total for all classes and the guy with the blue napa s-10 won. Congrats to him! They had to do it like bracket racing to have a race. As SOMEONE stated about a month ago "the track was never intended for BIG EVENTS and wanted a SMALL TRACK atmosphere" (maybe 60 cars total on the property) or something like that, NOW thats what they got SMALL car counts and SMALL spectator count! I got one. Quit taking the $20 off the tech card and put it to the purse. No one wants to spend $50 to enter, race five cars in an index and win $85. Just one example. This is done every week to the bracket cars. The pay outs could be larger for the classes and in return will draw more cars and the end result would be more people and cars in the gate and the track would make more money. Okay I have read this post and agree with most everything EVERYONE has said. So here is my 2 cents worth as well. I actually showed up for the race I agree the Tech cards would help the track if not taken out the entry. And that is exactly what Fred did at this race there was no charge for the tech card. The payout for the 7 car field was 500 to win and 300 for runner up with a $50 entry. The track paid out 800 in winning on 350 in entries. Okay yes this maybe the first time they have done this I do not know but what I do know is they are trying to please everyone who is running a car at the track and everyone has their own idea about how they would do it but no one will actually go to Fred and offer to help this man out in any way to make changes. And you say Aw we heard all this crap before BUT the track is trying to make changes for the betterment of the racers and coming on here and bashing EVERY SINGLE DAY that they are open is not the answer to getting fixed the way you want it. I know for a fact that we have at least 5 or 6 cars that would have been to the race but understand these guys have families and have to work out of town now because the way the economy is to support their families otherwise thay would have been here. Also there was at least that many that didn't show because the weatherman was forcasting rain until noon here in La. and they have open trailers and aren't going to haul the rides with that high of a chance of rain. It had nothing to do with everyone leaving the track nor did have to do with the payouts it is what it was it was planned for the 10.5's to race alonng with inndex racing and they cancelled the race and Fred did what he could in what little time had to do something for the track. If is about the payouts that was paid out last race this is being addressed and trying to be changed so if you gonna come on here bashing every week after a race then the way I see it is your are more part of the problem than part of the solution. If you want talk about what you would like to see being done I would be glad talk with and even go qwith you to the track or set up a meeting Fred after hours and see if it would be do-able. But coming on here and complaining and then not leaving a name Really we are supposed to all be grown-ups here if wanna be taken seriously at least post your name this way we know you aren't so one who works at some other track trying to get people there. Thanks Dickie just wish the weatherman here in La. would have got the report right. They were calling for rain until noon Saturday and you guessed it no rain at all that morning. I know several that were coming but they aren't going to make a haul in the rain so they made other plans. And when I got to the track they didn't have near the rainfall we had in La. so it was a missed oppurtunity by many to get probably the last great weather for running a race engine this year. Fred and the crew still managed to put togetehr a fun race for all involved or at least I thought it was fun and cool a new spin to bracket racing. - April 21, 2012 Houston Outlaw Race canceled. We have decided to cancel the April 21, 2012 race at Ben Bruce memorial Raceway. I have received confirmation that several OTTA cars are out for the April 21st race due to various reasons and will not be able to get the cars back up running in time for the race. I believe that it is in our best interest to cancel the April race at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused anyone but I appreciate the loyalty and honesty of the racers keeping us informed. Fred is still willing to host a Jack pot race if any of you want to go out that day and race. He will also host a 6.60, 6.0, and a 5.75 index race with a guaranteed payout if enough cars will commit to the event. He will hold any other index class as a jack pot race if there is at least 6 cars in the group. Thank you all for supporting the Houston Outlaw Races and the last thing we want to do is give you a less than expected event with low car counts. I just went to get a new msd pro coil. While i was there i tried out my new sony 16 gig disc, i lost all the pics i had on the old one the puter wouldn't access it and the camera either, it wouldnt even let me reformat it, Ok the new disc will hold 1,500 pics, ill send yall some, you post em huh Whiz.
