Do y'all remember when comedian Eddie Griffin busted up that Ferrari Enzo a couple of years ago? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNVrMZX2kms That car was repaired and is available for sale over here...... http://www.performanceautoworld.com/home Here's where it gets interesting.... The Enzo was rebuilt by the EXACT SAME jackass that put the Bugatti in the water. I bet he's wishing we'd all just shut up so he can collect the insurance and start to work rebuilding the 'gatti. I mean, seriously.... somebody that rebuilds cars for a living doesn't know to shut off the engine on a car that's in the water? Reports said that the motor ran for 15 minutes before it died. - BEN PERRY,.....after I did some careful consideration today, I contacted Jody and we made the decision to delete that post that you made and the thread along with it. SEEMS like you had a slight change of heart and for THAT I was thinking that everyone deserves another chance. Like I mentioned, nothing is PERFECT, but I think that DEEP DOWN we all REALIZE that. ANYWAY......TONY JONES is a GRADE "A" AZZHOLE, I admit, most of the time BUT I always STAND UP FRONT for what I believe in without any hiding or shame, but I had a moment of decency today and I *KNOW* that everyone deserves a chance.

- Eric Miller, you asked me to bring you something a couple of weeks ago! I could have sold it at work by now. Haven't heard from you! I'm not as good as an elephant, but I don't have "Old Timers" yet either! Chuck Ulsch was nice enough to let me have this thing! And on another note: I've got an event one and a WSN license plate that I was fortunate to get. Might have to put those up for auction if I don't hear from the person that was interested........................This should ruffle a few feathers! - By Whiz 11/17/2009 at 08:43:39 AM

hate to hear that Richard. But you did something no one else from this area did this year! Congratulations on making it that far. - By JODY 11/16/2009 at 04:13:06 PM
Vell (the points champion in box) went to the final round for a chance to go to the World Finals and lost by .0042. So I don't think he's the ONLY one to do good this year. Although Richard did do a great job, so did Vell and a few others. - By Board Follower 11/16/2009 at 07:14:08 PM
Uhhhh... Board Follower... Did any one else from around here go to race where Richard was? If not, then he did in fact go fathur than any one else from around here. Not taking Vells accomplishments lightly by no means. - By JODY 11/16/2009 at 07:29:27 PM
I found this earlier today that was added around 9am this morning. http://www.ihra.com/article/5340.html - By evadale track fan 11/16/2009 at 08:34:09 PM
Richard was racing the makeup race from when they were at the Division Finals in Dallas. That's where Vell and the rest of them were all at so it's a continuation of the original race held in Dallas. - By Board Follower 11/16/2009 at 07:37:36 PM

What a dumb a$$ coment! No one said that they did not like the track, only that they want to reduce the extreme amount of down time that effects everyone. We all know the rundown equipment fred has to work with, the staff needs to manage the down time a little better. The down time has hurt the spectators count & has started to hurt the car count & we all know that with no cars going down the track is the worst thing for track conditions. Glad to hear Fred chime in that there is some reliefe coming. Keep up the hard work Fred & "They will come" - By Read before you speak 11/16/2009 at 10:09:34 PM

- KING KONG SAID IT BEST WHEN THERE IS A BIG EVENT LET THOSE GUYS HAVE THERE DAY . IF TNT IS ALL YOU WANT TO DO WAIT TILL ANOTHER DAY THEN THERES NO HARD FEELINGS THE DALE IS A VERY NICE TRACK AND CLOSE TO US. THERE ARE JUST A FEW BIG EVENTS YOU HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO TNT YOUR RIDE THROUGH THE YEAR. JUST BE HAPPY WE HAVE A TRACK TO GO TO. AND MADEBE NEXT YEAR THEY CAN HAVE MORE PLAY DAYS LIKE THIS ONE COMING UP SATURDAY. MAYBE ONCE A MONTH OR EVERY OTHER MONTH. WATCH YA'LL THINK. - By CW 11/16/2009 at 08:30:26 AM
During any of the events, "tnt is a crapshoot and is secondary to the event racing format". This has always been explained to me by Fred this way and I understand the reasons. I was there from 12noon and made the last pass at 12:33 in the morning. I am a tnt'er only and realize it is a gamble anytime I want to get runs in at an event. There are things that are completely out of anyones control, like oil downs or Accutime program problems. These things happen. With all the index classes and tt5 races being run through there was hardly no time in between for tnt. During events the gate staff should make it abundantly clear to tnt'ers that there will be "no guaranteed tnt sessions after the first call during events ". Sometimes you only get to make 2-3 passes and sometimes 10. - By kawasakijockey 11/16/2009 at 09:34:50 AM
- OK, EVERYBODY HAS VENTED ABOUT THIS AND THAT, WELL, I'LL BE THE 1ST TO SAY "GREAT JOB TRACK STAFF!" THIS WAS A 1ST TIME FOR ME TO BE ABLE AND SHOW UP AND RACE AND ENJOY BEING THERE! MOST OF THE TIME IF THERE IS AN INDEX RACE, I WORK MY A$$ OFF TRYING TO KEEP THINGS GOING! THANK YOU FRED / BONNIE AND WHOEVER ELSE THAT TOOK OVER MY PART! WE PHUCKIN' WON A TROPHY BECAUSE I WAS FOCUSED ON WINNING AND NOT LISTWNING TO THESE WHINERS! LIKE MYSELF AND OTHERES HAVE SAID, PUT YOU AN EVENT ON AND TRY AND MAKE IT PERFECT! , SORRY, IF AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN, ITS NOT A PERFECT WORLD, GOD ONLY KNOWS I WISH IT WERE, BUT AGAIN,THAT YOU MIKE BRUCE FOR EVEN KEEPING IT OPEN FOR US! WHEN YOU LOSE, THEN YOU'LL MISS IT! WELL, TAKE IT FOR WHAT ITS WORTH, IT ALL MAKES SENSE TO ME OF WHAT I SAID, AND I'M NOT NOT ONE TO GET ALL TEMPERED UP, BUT, I DO APPRECIATE THE "DALE" AS MY HOME TRACK, AND APPRECIATE PEOPLES FEELINGS! - Who won last night? Like most people we left because of all the damm down time. 20 min to walk the track to finaly decide to drag it =another 48 min total lull -WTF ok I just had to vent a little - now who won/times??? - By Don't hate just needed to vent some. 11/15/2009 at 07:05:39 PM
IT IS STUPID THAT WE TOLERATE THE DOWN TIME FOR THE SMALLEST PROBLEM LIKE A CAR RUBBING THE WALL. HE DID NOT LEAK ANY FLUID AND IT STILL TOOK FRED ALMOST AN HOUR TO WALK DOWN THE TRACK THEN FINALLY DRAG IT. EVADALE IS A NICE TRACK WITH SOME VERY NICE PEOPLE RUNNING IT BUT IF YOU CANT DO YOUR JOB IN A TIMELY MANNER, FIND SOMEBODY WHO CAN. WE SPEND HUGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY JUST TO GET OUR CARS TO THE TRACK & HAVE TO SIT IN THE STAGING LANES FOR HOURS WHILE FRED TAKES HIS TIME. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE DALE SINCE THE FIRST RACES WHEN WE TO DRIVE THE CARS IN THE GATE UNTIL KNOW & THE TRACK HAS GROWN BUT THE CAPABILITY OF THE STAFF TO HANDLE THE STANGING LANES & CLEAN UPS SEEM TO GET WORSE.TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE OR GET NEW ONES. EVEN THE OLD EUNICE TRACK DID A FAIR JOB.EVADALE COULD BE A TOP NOTCH TRACK WITH THE MANAGMENT & EQUIPMENT.I DO NOT MEAN TO PUT ANYONE DOWN, I AM JUST TIRED OF NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT IT. - By TROY C 11/15/2009 at 09:40:34 PM
First of all I usually don't comment on these posts. Troy I will this time because you left your name. About the wall brush incident...Chris went down the track to see what was on the track. We thought it would be quicker to use the sweeper than to use a broom to do the clean up of all the fiberglass that was all over the left lane. I DID NOT even go out there, Chris called me on the radio to bring the sweeper. I will always drag the track after an incident like that because I don't want anyone else to slip around in the dust that was on the track. To answer the staff question...all our staff have regular day jobs except for myself. They give up their Saturdays to help us. There are times they want time off to spend with their families on Saturday, so it does cause us some issues. There are back-up people in some areas but it does take time to get these in place. There is a lot to do around the track during the week, but the track is my main concentration toward the end of the week. I don't know if anyone has tried to hire any personell lately... no one wants to work!!! Sat. is a hard day for someone to have a commitment to work. You would think with the economy the way it is there would be people lined up to want to work for extra money.
To address the dead time in the staging lanes... We have the test & tune come to the staging lanes when called, so no one has to set there for hrs. We are working on a new speaker system to help you hear the calls. At this time, you can tune to 88.3 FM to hear the announcer. I was at Dallas Raceway in Crandall this past Oct. for the SSS finals. Due to cars running if you did not have a Radio tuned to their radio station you could not hear their calls either. To address the clean up time issue. We have recently purchased a Tennant scrubber for oil down clean ups. Is however taking longer than expected to get it ready for use on the track. That will make the clean ups quicker. I also have in the works getting a Roll Back on site to get the stranded cars off the track quicker. There are a lot of things working in the background that I don't post when we have them going on.
To address the computer issue that happened Saturday...It was not, so to say the COMPUTER itself. We had a new computer built this year with the latest Accutime Software. The issue was in the PROGRAM. We called Rusty with Accutime Sat AM for the Printer issue and he never returned our call. We have considered using another system and priced them, but that is about $32,000, that the track cannot afford at this time. So to answer the "nothing being done about it" thing I feel you are wrong. - By Fred@ the Dale 11/16/2009 at 10:32:49 AM
Troy, you are wrong! There was something on the track. Did you not see them clean it up and then use the sweeper? It takes time to get things right when you have that kind of power going down it. I guess you would have jumped in your car and made an all out 7 second pass right after that??? Come on... you put yourself in Freds shoes... would you just let it go without inspecting the track first? It takes time and effort. If you don't think so... I challenge you or anyone else to shadow Fred on a Saturday night and see just how tough it is. And if you think you can do a better job... step up to the plate big boys or girls and offer some help on the spot... not the next day like a monday morning quarterback! - By JODY 11/15/2009 at 09:56:57 PM
OH come on Jody . You/we all know that there is a time managment problem. We all luv the dale & is our home track. Alot of us do help out here & there. This is an issue that we need to improve before we lose alot more spectators/racers. We all know the limited resources that Fred has, but we all want to improve our track, so my first suggestion is lets get together to put our ideas into action. Maybe we can dicuss this when we do the "after the year drivers meeting" - By Gary P. 11/15/2009 at 10:51:28 PM
Gary, I was talking about the incident Troy brought up. Now you are talking a whole different issue. I will put the same challenge out to you Gary. Shadow Fred and see what he has to put up with and what he has to work with. If you see something that needs improvement... tell him. I hate the down time as much as the next person, but I have also seen the show from the other side. It ain't easy. - By JODY 11/15/2009 at 11:04:59 PM
He has. Performance Dyno street car races. And they ran very smooth - By ! 11/15/2009 at 11:32:21 PM
I know Gary has put on events out there. They went smooth because there were no bad issues that came up. Not every time will be like that. It's when the shyt hits the fan that Fred works his hardest. Like Gary said, lets put a solution to all the venting. - By JODY 11/15/2009 at 11:36:56 PM
It will never happen here on these message boards! Hope this meeting does some good and things get changed to the good. When car counts and spectator counts go up then more staff and should be added. Especially in pits. 2 clowns on a mule driving in pits trying to get it on 2 wheels and sliding it sideways all night. Told staff and ???? - By Need more employees! 11/15/2009 at 11:45:54 PM
I have worked w/ Fred on diffrent occasion & I have helped run a few events myself, so I do know what it takes. Because of that & what I know it can be, is what makes me speak up. Now I do believe we can improve like it has in the past. All I ask is that every one put a solution to there venting. Come on guy's we can fix this. - By Gary P. 11/15/2009 at 11:29:53 PM
ITS A LOT DIFFERENT WHEN YOU HAVE AN EVENT RUNNING 70 STREET CARS AND THEN HAVE AN EVENT RUNNING 150 TRUE RACE CARS WITH 30 OR 40 OF THOSE HAVING 1500 TO 2500 HORSEPOWER. HAVING A STREET CAR RACE IS DARN NEAR LIKE HAVING A CAR SHOW. - By JK 11/16/2009 at 07:00:35 PM
Curtis Chapman 7.0 yellow vega, Bruce Chapman 6.60 red napa s-10, 6.25????, Chris Rhodes 6.0 yellow camaro, 5.75??? Black Nova, Brendon Mullins 5.50 Blue camaro, Scappy 5.25 maroon manzda. - By Dont know them all but here are a few. 11/15/2009 at 07:31:30 PM
FRED, THANKS FOR REPLYING. I DID NOT COMMENT TO TRASH ANYONE. I AM GLAD TO HERE ABOUT THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT ARE COMING. I UNDERSTAND THAT TEST & TUNERS HAVE TO WAIT DURING AN EVENT. THATS NOT WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. YOU DO A GREAT JOB MAKING THE TRACK HOOK. I JUST THINK CLEANUPS COULD GO FASTER. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE END OF THE YEAR MEETING SO MAYBE WE CAN UNDERSTAND YOUR SIDE & YOU CAN SEE OURS. I DO KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE A CAR GO FAST & HOW IMPORTANT TRACK CONDITION IS. THERES ALWAYS A WAY TO FIX A PROBLEM IF YOU KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I AM VERY THANKFUL TO HAVE A TRACK CLOSE TO HOME. - By TROY C 11/16/2009 at 09:46:51 PM

Richard, THANKS! I think there is a lot more in it. I just have to get some better parts. The tach was all over the place and the shift light looked like a strobe light a few times. After the winter rebuild we can line up and have a little fun! - By JODY 11/15/2009 at 08:23:34 PM

yep..... for now! hahahaha Thanks Tim for taking the videos that day. And thanks Tony for posting them. This is when I really noticed I was having shift light and tach issues. Along with a few tune up mistakes. But then again, I might need those bigger jets... the stupid tach and shift light threw me off pretty bad. - By JODY 11/16/2009 at 08:02:24 PM

A Lufkin man lost his $2 million dollar sports car after he accidentally drove it into a saltwater lagoon near Galveston on Wednesday, and a pelican is being blamed for the mishap. The incident involved one of the rarest cars in the world - the Bugatti Veyron EB - and it was one of only 15 in the United States. The car features a 16-cylinder engine with four turbo chargers, and can reach speeds of more than 250 mph. The supercar was developed by Germany's Volkswagen, and manufactured in France. La Marque Police say the man, whose name was not immediately released, had been in the Galveston area looking at Real Estate when the accident occurred. Police say he was traveling northbound on the Interstate 45 service road near Omega Bay when a pelican flew in front of the car. The driver swerved to miss it, but ended up going into the water. The man was not injured, and he escaped the car through an open window. Meanwhile, the engine kept running under water for about 15 minutes before it finally died. - You know.. I was thinking of something that would get me interested in bracket racing but didn't like the idea of losing because I went .01 below my dial in. I think I have come up with something that just might be a little fun for everyone. After 2 time trials you get 3 runs. The average is taken and the closest to their dial in is the winner. A tie would be decided on by best reaction time of the last round. Any of you guys interested? - By JODY 11/11/2009 at 10:20:20 PM

Jody every time you talk about bracket racing you always talk about the many ways to lose. Those are also the many ways to win if it happens to the other guy! You both have the same shot. Get a consistent car, cut a light, you win! That applies to all forms of drag racing. Heads up, brackets, pro mod, top fuel what ever. Cmon Jody you know you want try it! Come play with the BIG BOYS! hahaha. - By R. Hines 11/12/2009 at 08:56:29 AM

Changed my mind I think if there is a tie there should be a run off. With the giys racing each other bracketing their dial in. - By RFazio 11/13/2009 at 05:55:59 PM
Sounds good to me. Lets see... 2 practice to set your dial in... some of you seasoned pros will only need 1.... 3 runs to average...lot less wear on your car. I like Richards idea... if there is a tie then those 2 race 1 more full on bracket style. - By JODY 11/13/2009 at 10:32:08 PM

- I have a bone stock 454 with 781 cylinder heads. This motor is being built for a weekend street rod. It must run on pump gas and I'm wanting to make around 500hp. I plan on using the stock crank and rods but I will upgrade the rod bolts to a set of ARP's. I need to know the following. * How much horse power can I make with the 781 heads?* How much horse power will the stock rods and crank handle? * What work will need to be done to these cylinder heads? * How much cam will it take to make around 500hp? Any advice on a pump gas 454 build up will be greatly appreciated. - By Bill 11/10/2009 at 09:38:52 AM
Lingenfelter made over 600 hp on a 496 with 781s on it , and 2.25 and 1.88 valves, bowl ported and matched with about a 650 lift cam. Those 781s do real well with 2.19s and 1.88s in them, the larger valves let you really work the short turn radius under the valves, and the smaller ports keep the airflow velocity high. - By Tim Powell 11/11/2009 at 01:05:31 AM
I have some eagle I beam rod 6.385 (.250 long) and some srp forged 48cc dome pistons(.060 over) a steel crank and a set of world rec port heads set up for a .720 max solid roller. If interested give me a call. 337-853-5599 - By CHRIS RHODES 11/10/2009 at 10:55:59 AM
Bill ,James's motor is a .060 over 454 10.5 compression.with 781 casting heads.pocket ported and port match(done by James).the valve size is rather small but we dont crank the motor over 7200 rmps.2.065 int & 1.780 ex. the cam is rather small also when talking BBC rollers(solid) .680 int & ex with 265 @ 50 lift. 310 adv. we have harland sharp roller rockers.Eagle steel crank and rods.TRW pistons.the car wieghts right at 3000 lbs with james in the car.it runs 10.50s @ 126.so we est.that it makes around 500 - 550 hp.look me up next time you se me at the track we have all of the reciets on this motor.it cost right aroud 5k to biuld. - By Bracket Racer SSS 1970 11/10/2009 at 10:40:27 AM
and Bill both mine and James's cars run on 93 super from the local Shell store.we dont use any additives.i spray mine with 150 shot using super unlead..i ran 10.32 @ 128 saturday night. - By Bracket Racer SSS 1970 11/10/2009 at 01:54:16 PM
Eric, where are you hitting the 150 shot, on the track? And what does the car run on motor? Thanks - By 2 Windows 11/10/2009 at 04:36:34 PM
eric the math on james car comes up 512 hp at flywheel - By don 11/10/2009 at 04:49:08 PM
thanks Don.we knew it was in that range.i was hoping it was higher but its plenty enough for James.on my car the NOS is on a full throttle switch.so it hits right out of the hole.my motor is not a 454.its a very wornout 396.and when i say worn out im talking about 3000+ passes. - By Bracket Racer SSS 1970(Eric Wolfford) 11/10/2009 at 06:31:48 PM
oops i forgot Chris, saturday night the best pass on motor was 11.33 @118 on the spray(150shot out of the hole)10.32 @128 mph - By Bracket Racer SSS 1970(Eric Wolfford) 11/10/2009 at 06:34:43 PM
That's not bad Eric, a typical 125/150 shot usually takes a second off, and adds about 10mph. You hitting it right when you stab the gas? - By 2 Windows 11/10/2009 at 08:38:20 PM
yep.like i said its on a full throttle switch i just activate the kit, purge it,bump it through the motor a couple of times then its all automatic from there.i dont like to push a button.just mash the throttle and hold on.i really wanted to spray the other 100 in the kit but not on super unled.i dont want to kill any pistons. - By Bracket Racer SSS 1970(Eric Wolfford) 11/10/2009 at 09:11:36 PM

I'm going to try a different route on showing you this, hope it makes sense. If I try entering the stuff like it need to be it wont show up for you to read. here is how the back end of your post should look. "http://www.texasborderlinephotography.com/Evadale-Raceway/Evadale-Raceway-11-07-2009/LAT4813/706397970_ZJH5E-S.jpg>" then put this in front "img src=" with < in front of the "img src=" - By Jim 11/9/2009 at 10:50:09 AM
maybe this would be easier, it should look like this" img src=www.mypic.com" and close it in with < on one end and > on the other. - By Jim 11/9/2009 at 10:54:27 AM
Here is the format you need to use to post pics on this site, instead of using on here you use < > to close in istead of [ ] and use "img src=" on the front and close with ">" on the back hope this helps

- hey j ruggles who is that with the old model fairlane? its burgundy or wine color mixed with silver..passes by my house every now and then...just wondering who he was? another ford guy he very welcome to stop - By kingkong 11/3/2009 at 05:57:21 PM
Don't know right off, I'll do some checking. Hey why I got ya here, would a bad MSD 6AL cause spitting and sputtering in the higher rpm's? I have disconnected it and am using the stock coil and it runs great at low rpm's but step in it and it goes to backfiring. Kinda wierd, cause setting still . in neutral , it'll reve up fine , but under load is backfires. Do I need to install a new MSD box? Kinda hard to describe in a note. Kinda acts like the timing might be to far advanced? - By JRuggs 11/6/2009 at 09:51:13 AM
there are several things that could cause the high rpm misfire...never had a box cause me them kind of problems but im not gon say that it wont...i had a tachometer do me like that 1 time..simply unplugged it and it ran fine...that aint a chevy them fords dont like real high timing..at least mine dont hahaha...im off tues, weds, and thurs i'll get with you then..howz your dad? - By kingkong 11/8/2009 at 11:22:51 AM
Hey that would be great. I am working nites starting Tuesday, but open to meeting up anytime before 3:30 any day this week. I'll buy you lunch and you can give me some ideas. I've got a brand new MSD 6A already , just haven't installed it yet. Dad's doing great, working about 2 or 3 Sat's every month around at different shops, just enough to keep him outta trouble. Thanks for asking. My cell is 893-0960. See ya. Johnny - By J Ruggles Jr 11/9/2009 at 09:45:33 AM

yep! testicular fortitude - By fuzzy 11/3/2009 at 07:54:22 PM
Never heard of compounding superchargers, turbosupercharging yes, this no. I wouldnt believe the second stage could take the heat very long. More than likely for show and they have pulled the second stage female rotor out. - By kawasakijockey 11/2/2009 at 11:22:22 PM
KEWL, I'll be trying TWIN PROCHARGERS sometime next year, in series, Since I see here that it WORKS. HaHaHa !!! - By "D-1" and ONLY.......TONY 11/3/2009 at 03:32:05 AM
Who remembers Rick Dobbertin? He built 2 over the top show cars. The first was a 64 or 65 Chevy II that had twin turbos feeding a blower then he built a Pontiac J2000 with a similar set up. I'll look around and see if I can find pictures. - By JODY 11/3/2009 at 05:08:43 PM
Okay... I found pictures of them both. Here is a picture of the engine in the Chevy II. It had twin "draw thru" turbos going up to an injector style hat that is on top of a roots style blower.
Now here is a picture of the engine in the J2000.

i have only 1 perfect light in all the years ive been racing.and i did it in a rental car.a dang ford at that !!!.i was at school in Michigan.one night we took the cities rental up to US131 in Martin and ran the crap out of the Taurus.it was a blast puting the front wheels in the water & locking the E-brake then just smoking em down.my last pass flashed a perfect .5000 light.i framed it along with the entry stub from the track.that was a blast. - By Bracket Racer SSS 1970(Eric Wolfford) 11/2/2009 at 07:28:59 PM

not because they did some thing wrong but because they had an oil down. good thing nhra dont feel the same way. i understand that nhra will fine a racer for an oil down but not ban them for life. - By still aint gonna do it 11/2/2009 at 07:17:21 PM

Chellsea on the 14th @ HRP there is a race that will fit you just fine.there is a bracket saturday and sunday(2 races)both brackets.this race is a ALL FORD race.NMRA.the bracket part is kinda neat.it puts ford powered cars and trucks against anyone else(Dodge/Chevy/anything)the race here at Evadale has indexes but i dont think your quick enough for any of em.if you want to go let us know me and James will be there both days parking Fords on there trailers. - By Bracket Racer SSS 1970(Eric Wolfford) 11/2/2009 at 07:36:59 PM
