Real nice Monza. SBC 427 with Weiand 177 supercharger, Brodix track 1 heads, powerglide with 4200 Hughes convertor, 12 bolt with 4:10 pro gears, ladder bar set up. Car runs on alcohol and is 11.5:1 motor. Has twenty 1/8 mile passes on it since freshened up. Runs consistently 5.20-5.25 at 135 mph with a best of 5.17. Car will run through the 1/4 also. Ran through one pass and ran a 8.10 at 170 mph. This car is a very low maintenance car. Launches at 3000 rpm and shifts at 6600. Car weighs 2150 without driver. Paint is about a 8-9 on a scale of 1-10. Certified to 8.50 IHRA and NHRA.7AL3 electronics with memory playback tach with EGT recorder. There are not many cars out there for this kind of money that run as fast and is as low maintenance as this car. Car is light so it is not hard on parts at all. Not a high winding engine so freshen ups are far between. Engine builder said it could have easily made a bunch more passes when freshened up at 200 passes. A lot of car for the money right here! Asking 19,500.00 but really want to trade. Possibly trade Monza and Camaro for equal value car. Looking for a trade for 66-67 Chevy 2 street car than to sale. There is a lot of people that know Donna Campbell that works in the office. Her Dad Lindbergh Parsley passed away on Sunday. Visitation will be at Broussard's Funeral Home in Silsbee off of Hwy 96, from 5 pm - 8 pm on Tues. April 30th. The funeral will be at 10 am Wed. May 1st at Broussard's. Have a 18ft car hauler w/ 120 gallon air tank mounted battery tray and quick connection on the tongue for both. Has all brand new led lights and brand new wiring that's insulated as seen in picture below. Has brand new paint. Was hung up and sand blasted on the top and bottom and sprayed with 3 coats of primer and then 3 coats of black. The paint is thicker than powered coating. Has brand new tires maybe have 100 miles on them. We also added 4 more flesh mount tie downs so there are 8 total. Also have dual viair 480 compressors that can go with it. I know this board has been up and active for some time now, I have never registered to post until yesterday. I have seen may forums and boards FAIL because of negativity and bashing others, There is a differance in friendly chain jerking/cage rattling and just going off on a rant and rave that develops into scrolling through a bunch of BS. This board needs to be moderated and registered users assesed by their post and then reviewed, or maybe a PM/private message section added. Some of you I know and others I do not. I started coming to the board over a year ago as kind of a swap meet/race schedule updater, I think it is very nice to have a board for local people and it gives us the chance to sale/buy/trade or just keep up to date with the fellow racers in our area. I have to say this much, if a man or woman is open to posting his or her contact information on the board for another user to contact them about an issue with a post.....that person is making an effort to keep the negative bashing off the board, so use it and keep the board CLEAN. I for one am glad to have a local track to race or watch at and board to have access to. Think back to the days when there wasn't a track in the area and we had to travel to Porter to run. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but come on lets be fair to the track and board.... go to the source with your issues or problems and keep the BS to a private level so there is less negativity about the group or track. BigD, I tried a message board like YellowBullet and Drag Racing Gossip. It was a flop! Plus, any and all money to pay for the message board and the .com address comes out of my pocket. I have never asked for help to have this board and I'm not about to either. The better "login" message board have a monthly fee or yearly fee. I'm not going to pay for that again. Here, you just have to register and that has seemed to cut back a whole bunch on the anonymous haters that were always trying to piss everyone off. 215 mi, 3 hours 34 mins vs 40 minute drive to the Dale..3 1/2 hour drive to NPR = NOT GOING TO HAPPEN vs 40 minutes to the Dale = WE ARE THERE.plain and simple some people were NEVER going to NPR to begin with and that is Richards target group he is trying to get the word out to.The race Richard is trying to get the word out about is not an event at the track, but is LOCAL TRACK/HOMETOWN TRACK SUPPORT and supporting local racers....It is nice to see that the Dale still has open doors and I hope it stays that way. I will support the Dale as it IS my hometown track. Through POSITIVE support or racers and fans we will continue to have a local track to watch our friend, family, kids, and grandkids run at and enjoy. It is going to be organized by the racers in the staging lanes and is open to all types of race cars. Some people are not going to travel the 3 plus hours to go to Gary's race. Well, in your rant, you mentioned Evadale, not Richard. Also in Richards post, he mentioned he didn't have the time or funds to make the trip to Gary's race. He was trying to offer something to the other racers that were in the same situation. Also, just under Richard's earlier post, he apologized for jumping to soon. Races happen all over the US that are a few hundred miles away from each other. Some people will travel, some want to stay home. No need for hate. The Dale is open to race on. Lets be happy about that and go forward. I'm very happy Gary is stepping up to the plate and getting some organized racing going on. It takes a lot of hard work. I didn't say you couldn't rant. But you started out by saying it was Evadale that was crowding Gary's race when it was Richard looking for something to do since he and others can't make Gary's race. Old grumpy here lol. I spoke with Fred Monday and he has agreed to allow all the racers that want to can have a race on the 30th. You will pay the usual tech card at the gate and we will make the races in the pits. We talked about a 5.80, 7.00 indexes and a 9.90 1/4 mile index. The entry fee can be decided before the race by each class voting what they want their entry to be. I know of at least 3 5.80 and maybe as many as 6 already saying they will be there for the 5.80 index. We are not trying to take any racers from Garys race just some of us either can't afford the long haul or just don't have enough time on our hands to make the race. The races at the Dale will be any race vehicle welcome for this race in every class. That Door cars, Altereds, dragsters, motorcycles hell if your golf cart can run the numbers drive it. We want anyone that is interested in racing to come race. All race entry money will be paid back to the racers and yes the racer will even decide how they want to break the winner/runner up pot up. Throttle stops allowed only in the 9.90 1/4 race is bout the only rule I will say. Okay I am gonna piss some people off here but I feel I have a right to. I have been supporting the track for quiet a while now and liked calling the track home. BUT someone had a street car night on Friday. I personally heard about it after lunch Friday afternoon. I do not know if it was posted on the Dales site and really don't care. What my concern is why wasn't this bought up or a flyer posted on the LBB site? Guys this is in my opinion why this track struggles to keep the gates open no COMMUNICATION that is 90% of any sucessful business. As I look at the photos on the GTR site I think I saw 1 or 2 so called STREET CARS. Well all I am gonna say is thank you Evadale for the great times because I will never look at this track as my home track again. There are to many other tracks that don't dis their supporters as I feel the Dale did us this time. Call it what you want but this really burns my butt that the track is run this way. And at the end of 2011 alot of the LA folks that they was tired of the same ol same ol, many like yourself tried and tried with suggestions that was called (BITC$ING) and they all decided to seek other race tracks, and they stuggled in 2012 with the lack of cars and spectators. I just found out we will be selling 50/50 tickets as a fund raiser for one of our ex-employees Gary Estepp, that worked at the tech building when the track first opened. He has been battling cancer for several years & making trips back and forth to St. Luke's Hospital in Houston for treatment. This has been tough on him and his family. Now he is on the list over there for a liver transplant. So if you come out to the track on the 15th and/or the 30th please help yourself and Gary by buying these tickets. Umm I can read perfectly fine. In case you haven't noticed there is a big diff between what was asked which was a TNT day and a race with tnt. The schedule says dragsters with TNT not tnt day. What I have been faced with... is big shows at the other 2 tracks. I have been watching their schedule to set our races, so we will have good counts. I am not setting it as being a set day each Mo. The Feb date is set as the best of both worlds. I'm trying to do it on circle track days or days that the Drag Strip is closed. Thanks to the 1000+ spectators and 185 racers for a great "Hangover Nationals" this past Saturday. There were a lot of very fast cars out. I'm sure we can agree that nobody ever prepares for an event like this. Fred and his family are needing our help. We have postponed the "Hangover Nationals" to the 26th. This is due to the cold temps and the chance of rain forecast for tomorrow. The same weather appears to be set in for next weekend too. So we decided to try for the 26th. I sure wish I could control the weather...but I can't so it is what it is.

I will give some kick back on this one. According to the track it takes 5k a night to operate. (this was told to me by owner & manager) Rumor has it that 150k for 12 months is needed to lease it (jody). Thats 12.5k a month with out opex.Thats $18750 a month just to break even. So at these prices it is not economically feesable to operate by a lease. You say everyone griped about the payouts, well sure when you can go up the road pay less entry and race for more money. So expect some griping about that. But also know that there was many racers who stayed and raced for the lower payouts and unorganization to support this track. The only one complainig about paying jet cars and not paying racers was Jody. Do i think he is right about this YES! You should also realize this too, alot of people had race cars prior to Evadale and will continue to own and race cars after its closed. Do we want it open YES, do things need to operate diff to make it a profitable business YES. Will this happen prob not! Mike made the decision early in 2012 that there would be no 2013 full racing season. You cant get on here and say it is all the racers fault that supported the facility everyweekend that its there fault its closing. There is many that pi$$ n moan about your facility so r you gonna shut the doors?? Dont think so! I agree with you that people's complaining on this message board was NOT a determining factor. Anyone who really believes that is nuts. It is the American dollar that keeps the doors open. Now, everyone who quit coming out had the same complaints but what hurt the track was when they didnt come back to pay at the gate. It is quite simply the most basic of economics. Posting something on these message boards or texting someone is so hard to get your point or emotion across. Expecially when you have the writing ability of somebody like me. I'm no journalist. I can get caught up in my own emotions and blinded by my own feelings and opinions. So let me take a moment to see if I can explain why all the negative talk helped Mr. Bruce scale back on operations over the past few years and 2013. When you are looking for a place to eat, you ask around and check the score cards by the health department. If its a low score or you hear bad things, you don't go. So, when looking for a place to race, if you hear bad stuff about the track, your not going to race there. Sure they had problems at Evadale. ALL tracks have issues. What made it seem that Evadale had so many more was people would get on here and talk about all the problems. When HMP had to shut down a few weeks ago because of a computer glitch, nobody got on here with post after post talking about how unprofessional it was that they didn't get it fixed that night. But when that happens at The Dale, this board lights up with people complaining about it. The little track in the woods was all we had. No matter the difficulties, it was still ours! I learned how to work with what I had. Did I want more people? YES! Did I want to finish sooner? Well, this is kind of a long answer. Who remembers all the street racing we did back in the 90s and early 2000s? When a race went long into the night, it felt like those outlaw days to me and a bunch of others. Yeah, I know it makes it bad for the paying spectator with a family. But racers will race no matter what day or time. He!!, I got up out of bed at 3AM and ran down the Hilton's old shop becuase I heard somebody racing! hahaha So, when I say the negative posts helped shut things down, now you know why. These message boards have helped make an event and they have helped kill one. I just hope the future for Evadale will be brighter than ever if things can get worked out. I know that if certain things work out, the track can and will come back better than ever with the help of the racers all around this area. More track workers, between round timers better PA system and the 2 guys that know how to find the weak spot and ANY drivetrain. The past is the past so lets stop pointing fingers and trying to lay blame on anyone or anything. I really need to bail out of this conversation�.. but I am going to add my .02 one more time. It is really all simple math. I saw the paper work at the track many times over the years. I have my own track now and I see the paper work every weekend. Now let�s talk about an average day of TNT at the Dale. It cost about 250.00 per hour to open and run the track if you do NOT have major oil downs, this includes staff, EMT, Insurance, glue etc. this does not include things such as have the parking lot cleaned up after you leave, i.e. picking up trash, paying to have the dumpsters emptied, purchasing more tech cards, toilet paper for the rest rooms paying property taxes, general liability insurance for the track, repairs on equipment etc. etc. I am strictly speaking of opening the track for TNT. On an average TNT day the Dale will get approx 150 spectators at 10.00 per person = 1500.00, 60 TNT cars at 20.00 = 1200.00 that is a total of 2700.00 now the track opens at 12:00am to 12:00pm that is 12 hrs times 250.00 = 3000.00 now you are in the hole already 300.00 and I am only speaking of average, many times there are less cars or spectators and sometimes there are more but at least you would hope to break even. Now I know that Jody can show you pictures of packing the place with cars and spectators when having good payout but ask Jody this �How many man hours did he and Tony put into making that happen? Ask him how much of his personal time he gave up? Why he doesn�t do it anymore? My guess is that he will tell you that you have to be dedicated to the project and you have no time for nothing else that his phone doesn�t stop ringing either when he is at home with his family or on his job. It takes a lot of work and time to pull the profitable race off and someone has to do the foot work. I know that I was 150% dedicated and spent day and night either on the phone or the internet to pull mine. The racers show up they race they get paid they go home and they wait till the next race day. The promoter goes home and immediately starts the next project. Once I got custody of my granddaughter last December I did not have a 150% to give to the racer anymore, I had other responsibilities that had to come first. But the bottom line is that if someone does not give up all of their day and nights and do the leg work then the racer cannot get paid but then you get up the next morning and hear all the complaining and at some point you just wish that someone would say �THANK YOU�. Everyone is complaining about lack of payout but no one offered to give up their lifestyle and do the legwork to make it happen. You complain that Mike wasted money on the Jet Trains, so what he likes them and it is his money so who cares I mean what you are really saying is that he should give you his money for you to enjoy your hobby and to hell with what he likes. I have a boat, that boat cost me money to park it at a marina and it cost me a large amount of money to fuel it up to go fishing, should I park my boat until someone pays me to go out and enjoy my boat. This race cars are your fun time you bought or built them to enjoy them, and then you are asking someone else to go in the hole so that you can go out and enjoy your hobby. Think about it this way, Mike gave you a track to go out and enjoy and most of the time regardless to what you think it actually cost him money for you to enjoy his track. He spent the extra money to prep it to perfection. It has plenty of room to stop it is wide enough for error and you can run up and down it all you want and enjoy your hobby but you are so busy not looking at the whole picture and complaining about the little things that really do not matter that he has had enough. You say Evadale chose its own fate well I can assure you that Mike enjoys being at his ranch more than being at the track listening to everyone complain so the reality is he made a decision to do what he enjoys. If you think Mike needs that track to keep him financially stable you are sadly mistaken, he is in his 70�s and he wants to enjoy life and he tried to give you a place to enjoy but do you really think that someone should always have to pay you to enjoy your hobby, my guess is that no one is paying him to enjoy his ranch. The racers, maybe not you personally, but the racers have complained so much that he had enough of it, like the song says you are not going to miss me until I�m gone, sometimes you should just appreciate what you have but often you get to greedy to realize what you have until it�s gone! If you want to get paid then step up and offer to do the leg work and at the end of the day when everyone gets paid but you and you will see what it takes to make it profitable. The bottom line here is that Mike is fine with his decision, you are the ones left out in the cold and it could have been prevented if you would have just enjoyed what you had and stopped repeatedly asking for more, you did not like it the way it was so it closed or is planning to close, you got what you wanted and now you are complaining about that too. I am sure that I will take heat over this post but the facts remain the same. PS. Jody... Yes I did take it personal, that what happens when you put your heart and sole into something, I am not even in Texas anymore and I am still broken hearted that this is happening to the Dale and if there is a way that I can make a difference then I will stand up and help. I love that little track, the good and the bad. Every track has it issues. When I was searching from my own track so many factors came into play, this one has more bleachers, this one is closer to the freeway, this one is to close to a sewage plant and it stinks, etc, etc. I had to way the odds against each other and make a decission as to what was most important to me before I uprooted my famialy and moved to another state and all I am saying here is that the Dale may not have had a great PA system but you hook. I could go to Baytown and Wreck 3 cars a races, How many wrecks do you see at HMP? The Dale hooks, it has plenty of stopping room, it is wide enough that if you have some room for error. I looked at the Dale and found that putting the OTTA cars down that track was safer than ANY other track I had been to, so for me the PA system did not matter near as much as giving the racers a safe surface to race on! - By bonniewebb 12/24/2012 at 02:54:21 PM

Well just so everyone know we N.W.O have been working with BBRW to have several races ,each race will be filled with all the excitement we can bring back to the Dale !!! We have been working on other classes for our race like x275,ol275,580 index and a pro-mod class with run what u brung hope u brung enough to give the big boys somewhere to run with plenty of people who i know that love racing . Also we will be giving gifts and prizes for everybody to win kids ,women and men ,Some members of N.W.O are from the triangle and support the Dale !!!!!!! if this happens, Please dont forget the grass roots racers of the Box and No-Box classes of Bracket Racers who faithfully and willingly have Raced for a chance to win our own money back for the past decade... the track really is 1/4 mile long and some of us like to run W.F.O the Whole track. just sayin'... there are a lot of Racers, their families ,friends, SPONSORS, guests, kids, and FANS who pay entry fees and eat lots of concession stand stuff too....if You cant be down with us Bracket Racers... and are only gonna rent half the track, Please include Index classes such as 6:20... 6.60... 7.0... and possibly 7.50 class too. Jody I have known you for a long time and I will help you out in any way I can if you decide to hold a race. All this bashing each other and Mr. Bruce gets nobody closer to racing. You get something together with Tony and I will make sure I am there to support it. I even think I can get a certain 81 out of the garage for it!!!!!!! This is exactly what Mr. Bruce wanted in the first place. He believed it would be easier for a consortium to lease the track then it would be for 1 or 2 people. However, the prices that I was told didn't seem too unreasonable. The cafe was not included in that price though. But then I would bring in schools looking for a place to have a fund raiser and let them have the space for free.
