For the free version of Spotify you get 160kbps, premium has the benefit of 320kbps, if they've had time to re-rip the CD at that bitrate.
I listened to the first Taken by Trees album, after hearing Victoria Bergman guesting on the Peter, Bjorn and John track 'Young Folks'. Haven't checked out the second cd as yet, however a quick check on Spotify and there it is. That's the beauty of Spotify. I will now click away from J Mascis and the Fog and indulge.
Another way to discover great tracks is to pop along to a BT gig. I've since become a fan of Tiny Vipers first CD and Dan Kelly's excellent track 'Drunk on Election Night'
