White-crowned Sparrows and Rusty Blackbirds Posted on October 5, 2010 at 11:14:06 PM by Ron Reid
Tons of White-crowned Sparrows in Carden this afternoon, including a large flock feeding in the corral just north of our cabin. About a dozen Rusty Blackbirds at the same location. Also saw a few Song and White-throated Sparrows, Golden-crowned Kinglets, and Yellow-rump Warblers.
Beavers have been busy blocking the bridge in Sedge Wren Marsh, and constructing a lodge half on the road immediately north of the bridge. Several sections of the road to the north are flooded, but passable. I'm sure the roads department won't be amused, but likely good for the marsh to have a period of high water.
