Double consonants and being suckered. IP: 18.104.22.168 Posted on January 27, 2011 at 11:19:49 PM by The ghost of Mrs. De Winter
Further to Andy's message on the home page about the brilliant deception in round 3 we knew that Susan Hill had written the sequel to "Rebecca" called "Mrs. De Winter". Wilst the title of the novel wouldn't work for double consonants there was no reason, in our view, why the adapted stage play shouldn't be called "Rebecca", thus satisfying what we thought to be the link.
Don't know if The Men were aware of this double double bluff when they set that question but if they were then it's one of the most fiendishly clever feints ever perpetrated in this league.
