Carden Alvar Nature Board by Bob BowlesImmature Bald Eagle

Last evening around 7:30 a great commotion took place in the sky over the southeast part of Mitchell Lake. Crows, Ospreys and even the Canada Geese in the water were on alert and from the air mounted an attack on a Bald Eagle. It landed in a birch tree across from my house, and was greeted by a "swarm" of grackles and redwing black birds. As it took off again the crows and ospreys drove it away toward the canal. What a sight!!
