On May 5th, Terrie Smith and I visited the Carden Alvar as part of our Grassland Bird Survey route. Saw lots of nice birds. Included were 3 Upland Sandpipers, 2 Sandhill Cranes, Sora, two American Bitterns (not at Wylie Marsh), three Loggerhead Shrikes, several towhees, thrashers, a catbird, Yellow and B&W Warblers, House Wren, Broad-winged Hawk, Ruffed Grouse, bluebirds and several snipe. A Red Rox was hunting the meadow near Scott's Road. Replies: There have been no replies.
