Carden Alvar Nature Board by Bob BowlesGolden-wingeds abounding

Not that I've seen a single one -- but just after noon today I heard one golden-winged song loud and clear just south of the Sedge Wren Marsh on the west side of Wylie Road, and then another, more languid, singing on the east (the first let out with "bee-buzz-buzz-buzz," the second favoured "bee-buzz-buzz" at a slower tempo. )
This evening (7:30) while giving the dog a run at the ball park in Victoria Road, there it was again: the golden-winged song in the bushes quite near the road just west of the parking lot, and then another in the field east of the ball field, farther from the road. The ball park is on Blanchards Road, which is the continuation of Talbot River Road when it crosses Kawartha Lakes 35 (the Victoria Road).
I hope someone checks these out -- I'd hate to think I was hallucinating!
There was also a marsh wren singing in the Sedge Wren Marsh.
