Update on Wells

I received an email from a biologist with the state of VT yesterday. She stated she had heard of this incident, but was not aware anyone from ANR had responded. She also stated that they do NOT DENY that there are mountain lions in Vt. They just have no evidence of a breeding population. They are short handed, and short funded, and cannot lanunch studies, which is why a group of us is doing so. I gave her the information so she can get the report first hand. As I suspected, this is turning out to be more of a miscommunication issue than an unreliable report. We have a couple of other very similar incidents we are working on. That being said, cooperation with these state groups is starting to increase, which is very productive. I am, however, somewhat disturbed by the attitude that "nobody has posted so they arent here". They are here, and have been for decades. Thanks to social media and cooperative citizens, they now know they need to gather evidence when these sightings occur, if at all possible. Thanks everyone.
