Temptation is a dirty thing. It is the basis of all evil. The base of lust, the base of suicide, the base of everything evil. A now, at the top of a waterfall, temptation was all in Zain's mind. Not as much temptation as wonder. How bad would it hurt to fall from up there? What would it feel like to hold your nose beneath the water for a length to feel your mind slowly disappear. It was so much that Zain wanted to die, just how it feels to die. His life was just fine for the moment, so he has no current wish to die. He's observed the pain of fights, something he's never experienced, and the pain of when a wolf is infected with influenza, another thing he has not experienced. It wasn't a death wish, just dangerous observing.
A spring breeze drifted past him, causing his ebony coat to ruffle in the wind. The distance from other wolves was nice to him, as he preferred staying alone. The wolves that were out crawling around seemed much smaller from here, which was a nice relief for Zain. He was adjusted to always being the smaller wolf, it had become normal for him. In the times he was the larger wolf, he felt odd and awkward. Being small suited him, it made it easier to simply to sit back and observe. To listen and think without interruptions. While larger wolves were almost always front and center, whether they wanted to or not. That was something Zain didn't frankly enjoy.
So today he was sitting, alone, at the foot a waterfall. Watching the water fall and watch the aquatic life twist and turn as they fell victim to gravity's pull. It was a serene site, all of it. The comforting sounds of the water rushing made for a wonderful setting. And as he sat here alone, he contemplated what he would do now. He couldn't simply stay here forever, though it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Zain was quite fond of this place, despite the destruction that's obviously happened to it. He lied down, placing his head on her fore paws. His lime orbs disappeared behind his lids while he listened to the comfortable sound of the water.
