Months had gone by, and I hadn’t seen Hera. It worried me, I’ve been searching for her, day and night, and nothing, not a single trace of her and it’s finally hitting me, I’ve failed. Utterly and miserably failed. There were nights when I didn’t sleep anymore, I cried, heartbroken and upset that I had failed Juno so. I had found myself a small den, well, more like created one behind the waterfall, settled deep within the bushes the back of the den was the rock wall of the waterfall. It was cool in the summer, and the heat of my body was kept in the colder winter months, to me, it was a perfect home for someone such as myself. All alone, I knew that my life would be this way for many more months to come.
Splashing and well, ruckus brought me out of my den and I looked around, seeing more wolves headed to the waterfall, I sighed, well, I wouldn’t be alone today apparently. I moved towards the group that was growing, heading first to a small pool that gathered past a few rocks, where the shallow, clear water was undistirubed by the splashing from the falls. I drank greedily, my eyes focused on all those that were around the falls, inspecting each and everyone of them before I lifted my white and red head. I watched them, curious as to why the wolves were gathering in such numbers at the falls. It was fall, and soon winter would be upon us. Oh, that’s why. Many must be looking for their imprints, that’s it. I wanted that too, in some deep far off place but I was too young to have pups, so I didn’t even think about it.
I just watched, standing near the calm little pool, just watching them. Interested, yet, not sure.
