The July General Quarterly Meeting of the Tampa Fire and Police Retiree Association was held on July 11th.
Acting as Chaplain, Warren Bennett opened the meeting with a prayer, after that President Tommy Depolis led the meeting in the Pledge. Guest Mr. Mark Ober Hillsborough County State Attorney and Mr. Ted Cannella Financial Advisor were welcomed and made opening statements.
President Depolis, provided an overview of ongoing litigations and the pension funds health.
President Depolis, opened nominations for President, Mr. Billy Lynn had been previously nominated and was elected unopposed.
President Depolis then opened nominations for Mr. Lynn's vacated Vice President's position and Mr. James "Jim" Bates was nominated and elected unopposed.
Congratulations to both Billy and Jim.
Newly elected President Lynn and Vice President Bates, gave statements.
The well attended meeting was provided a very tasty Spaghetti Diner by Treasurer/Cook, J.J. Oliva and his wife Vickie. Great job J.J. and Vickie, thank you.
After the meeting the drawing was conducted and a 50/50 pot split.
The remaining time during the evening was spent socializing.
