Parker Lawsuit Update
The Supreme Court of Florida will hear oral arguments at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2014 concerning the John Parker Class Action Lawsuit. The Courts address is 500 S. Duval Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399. A maximum of 20 minutes to each side is allowed for the argument.
As a reminder, the Court will determine on who pays the retirees class action Attorney Wayne Thomas' fees. The F&P Pension Trustees want the retirees to pay attorney fees of about $1.3 million to Wayne Thomas out of interest monies that is owed and being withheld, $1600.00 for each retiree and $ 800.00 for each spouse. If the Pension Trustees’ opinion prevails it will cost each eligible retiree about $800.00 and spouses about $400.00.
