REECE, John D., of Lutz, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2014, sur-rounded by his family and loving bride at his side. A devout Christian, he was a devoted husband of Wanda (Baby) for 48 years. Loving grandfather and 'Papa', he will be greatly missed by his 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Retired from the Tampa Police Department as Lieutenant, he spent the following 20 years as a licensed general contractor. He will be remembered for his deep love of God, his undying devotion to his wife, and his love for his children. He leaves us with his legacy of integrity, strength, a great sense of humor, and generosity to all who knew him. John is preceded in death by his daughter, Terry; and son, Dennis. He is survived by his six children, Linda Drayne Frazier and husband Greg, Darleana Rego and husband Marc, John A. Reece and wife Kimberly, John Thomas Reece and wife Jackie, Scott Reece, Yong Lindsay and husband Lynn, and Debbie Sue Bedell. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 12pm-1pm. Services begin at 1pm. Hodges Funeral Home, 36327 State Road 54, Zephyrhills, FL 33541. Burial to follow at Williams Cemetery.
