Carden Alvar Nature Board by Bob Bowlesanother wonderful day

yesterday evening while bringing in the feeders for the night, i was entertained by the robin singing its evening song and the woodcock peenting; earlier in the day a robin was seen with nesting material

was up early enough this morning that the blue jays were not yet in full chorus; with the relative quiet i was able to hear the sandhill cranes whooping it up, the sapsucker was drumming and the flicker was laughing; while all this was happening, the ground was moving with juncos and tree sparrows; the robin is right now singing its morning song and the turkey tom is still displaying to still completely indifferent hens

the fields to the north and west are as flooded as i have ever seen them - geese and ducks are loving it
