At todays Pension Board Meeting there were several items discussed.
OF COURSE THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM , OF THE DAY, TO RETIREES, WAS THE 13th CHECK. As every one knows by now all retirees will receive $9510.00 and surviving Spouses will receive $4755.00, in June.
Mr. Joe Griffin of Buck and Associates ( Our Acutary Firm ) also reported that our Fund is in great shape as it is 94% funded. A lot of funds are in real poor shape.We must thank our Trustees and our investment firm of Bowen & Hanes for doing a great job over the years in keeping out Fund in great shape.
The first item was Public Speakers and the only Speaker was Steve Mason Retired Fire Fighter and President of Tampa Retired Fire Fighters Association. Steve gave an excellent presentation on why the Pension Board meetings should be recorded. The Board discussed this later in the meeting and it was Tabled so the Staff could gather more information on possible systems to be considered for purchase.
The Board voted to Hire Tiffany Ernst as Plan Administrator with a salary of $130,000.00 a year plus a benefit package. Tiffany has handled the job on a temporary basis since last August , when the previous Plan Administrator abruptly resigned. Tiffany and the Office Staff have done the job with one less staff member with COMPLETE satisfaction to the Trustees and the Participants and Retirees. She has solved several problems with no Drama , no Rudeness and in a very efficient manner. The Board has done the Fund a very prudent job in this endeavor.
Chairman Bogush is doing a great job of keeping the meetings running smoothly and orderly.
