Pension Board Recordings
IP: 174.131.39.241

July 1, 2014,

I just returned from a 2 week Alaskan Cruise Vacation and have not been able to absorb all of the tape recording from the Pension Board meeting in its entirety.

Thanks to Retiree Dennis Ribaya for sharing his recording of the meeting with me.

There are several items of importance that I need to read and digest BUT the one thing that jumped out to me is the part about the Board voting to discontinue the recording of the meetings.

A little history: Several of us retirees have spoke to the Board of Trustees about wanting them to continue recording .

Foremost of these speakers was Tampa Retired Fire Fighters Assoc. President Steve Mason , representing approx. 400 members wanting to continue the recordings . Without these recording we would not know who voted for or against this change. It also was recordings that discovered the Boards mistake of not giving us the 13th Chack in the Parker Law Suit.( $5700.00 so far )

The Trustees who voted to continue recording was Fire Trustee Mark McRae, Fire Trustee Mark Bogush, City Trustee Dennis Rogero and City Trustee Ocea Latimore.

Voting to discontinue recording the meeting ( and keeping their actions unrecorded and secret ) was Police Trustee PJ Gray, Police Trustee Rich Griner,( it was expected that Police Trustee Griner & Police Trustee Gray would vote the way they did because they want to completely control what is going on and never have any transparency) Police Trustee Doug Burkett, City Trustee Sharon Fox, and LAST BUT NOT LEAST Fire Trustee John Cannon, who by the way was supported and elected by the votes of the retirees of the Tampa Retired Fire Fighters Assoc. Whom President Steve Mason reported that the membership wished for the recordings to continue.

Trustee Cannon REALLY showed his gratitude for the Associations members support and getting him elected.

I personally will campaign for another Fire Fighter to replace him at the next election when his term is up.

The Assoc. will now have to purchase a recorder and get volunteers to attend the meetings, to record, so we will know just what is going on and by whom
