Are crappies slow everwhere?

Fished docks Friday eve 2 hrs 5 all 10.5 1-11.5 Sat fished docks 2hrs 4-9.5 to 11 inches. Went to north channel and fished 3hrs got 2-10.5 and 11.5 inch.2 nice perch.So for the week end. Got enough for a family dinner.Sunday got o. For this time of year every one I talked to said the fishing has been quite slow. Hit and miss. They fire up for a day and then slow or none for a few days.Mostly in the center of channels is best.Not seeing the shad in close swirling or minnows shallow like in the past years when the bite was good. So maybe just not cold enough yet .Anybody have any thoughts on that to share?Or is it that I just need to try some other methods?Good luck to all.
