With the fall sim supermodified season just ending the last weekend of December, Up in Smoke Racing is already reared and ready to go with their spring season. The JCR Supermodified v4 league will roar into the Caraway Speedway (Asheboro, North Carolina) for 50 fast-paced laps around the small and quick half mile automobile racing facility with the Up in Smoke Racing Icebreaker Down South presented by JakesSite.com (a supermodified imagery and statistics website dedicated to the preservation of the sport’s past, the promotion of present day supermodifieds, and the insurance of a bright future for supermodified racing). This race, to be held on February 15th, will pit roughly twenty of “the world’s fastest short track racecars” against each other in a grueling affair.
Jake Zoll, namesake of JakesSite.com, was available for comment Monday evening and stated as follows. “I love the supermodifieds and this is the least I felt I can do to help out Up in Smoke Racing and the sim racing community.” Chris Meyers, series director and owner of Up in Smoke Racing, stated on Tuesday morning, "We are excited to be able to market our product to all the prospective sponsors out there. The Icebreaker Down South presented by JakesSite.com will commence at 7 pm on February 15th with practice until the start of the 7:45 drivers’ meeting. Qualifying and 15 lap heat races will follow in order to set the field for the 50 lap feature event. Drivers must have TeamSpeak installed and on our server (96.8.116.226:9997) in order to race.
