Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Note: Susil Crags will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

A hunter must always have, above all else, patience. Skill could be learned so long as one had patience to hone it and Veilia liked to think of herself as skilled. She was not, however, foolish. The rack on that beast could easily catch and gore her if she wasn't careful and that was assuming she could make it to the beast before he bolted. He did not seem the most witty of creatures, his dull eyes focusing more on the verdant crop before him rather than the area around him. Perhaps he thought that since he was away from the marsh water he need not fear dear from the liquid; wolves were not often savvy enough to catch them in their habitat until they reached dry land and even one must be quick and careful. So she sits and waits, perhaps for divine intervention or perhaps for an easier meal to come traipsing along to steal her attention. The coat of the deer is still somewhat shaggy from winters hold but the belly has begun to fatten and with the way the deer was studiously going at his meal would not doubt grow larger.

It is the slightest movement off to her side that draws her attention, her tapered maw moving slowly around as her eyes catch sight of the waiting male a distance away. He was quiet, so quiet as to not draw any attention to himself and this she applauds him for why else be so stealthy unless he too was striving for a hunt? She blinks at him for a moment smiling slyly, satisfied with the help that has been offered to her and dipping her maw just once in a show of acceptance before she slowly rises to a stand, tail swooped down low across her hocks.

At the moment the male had the better vantage point of sneaking up the back end of the deer and she would use her own self to push the deer into the right direction, assuming he might spy her. She creeps along the ground in almost a catlike manner, lowering her belly into the grass at intervals with ever watchful eyes before she creeps forward once more. Closer and closer she draws to the front end of the deer, waiting for a few seconds in the grass - was he really so oblivious? - before launching forward in silence. No snarl or growl is needed to announce her presence and the deer has finally realized that he his being stalked, his tail lifting and his head jolting up to see the alabaster female coming at an angle for his shoulder. She moves low, using her height to distinct advantage and her body ready to jolt away from the swing of antlers if he should try to fight back, but he flinches and jolts to his right, spinning around and hopefully heading straight into the jaws of Covet.
