Fan Appreciation Night Sees Familiar Winners in Victory Lane
(SANDUSKY, OH, May 29th, 2015)- The Sandusky Speedway held its first Fan Appreciation Night of the season in front of a stellar crowd of the very fans the night was set to honor. Logan Cooper fired back at on-track rival Mike White, winning his second feature event of the season to match White�s own pair of feature wins as the two dominate the street stock division. The Hobby Stock class saw a similar case as Dan Smith became the first repeat winner of the front wheel drive season at the speedway. The friendly distribution of power would again be offset by Jerry Karl taking the checkered flag in his fourth event of the Ohio Stock season, which seems to be increasingly common as he has swept the entire season thus far.

The Milan Automotive Street Stock division would be the first vehicles on track for their twenty lap feature event. The #69 of Mark Resor would pace the field in his Herman Carver sponsored machine alongside the Kelly Brothers Construction #54 of Carl Smith. Smith would take the point as the duo rushed out of turn two with Resor hot on his heels. The event would run relatively peacefully for the next ten circuits as Smith led Resor, Cooper, White, and Penn.

At the halfway point of the race, there seemed to be an unspoken agreement between Logan Cooper, Mike White, and Collin Penn as they all charged to the top three positions respectively. The trio would hold this order until a caution for debris with two laps to go seemed to promise a highly entertaining finish between points leader Logan Cooper and two-time feature winner Mike White. Unfortunately, the finish turned out surprisingly dull after White drifted too high coming out of turn two on the restart, surrendering the win to Cooper in the #16 Track Kings machine. White held on for second over Collin Penn, Mark Resor, and Carl Smith.

In Melinda! Melinda! Hobby Stock action, Richard Clem and Brandon Halcomb would pace the front row with Halcomb taking the early lead on lap one. Halcomb would soon have trouble in the form of Dan Smith�s #71 as Smith pulled door to door with Halcomb on lap three, completing the pass on lap four. Smith would not look back, and despite the hard charging duo of Trent Aslaksen and Kelly Lille, Smith would motor to his second win at the speedway in just five days. Aslaksen, Lille, Halcomb, and Clem would round out the finishing order.

The Digital Yalo Ohio Stock division would round out the evening with their twenty lap event. Veterans Jeff Karl and Julia �the Bug� Buckles would make up the front row for the start of the feature, with Karl pulling into the lead on lap one. The ever-dominant Jerry Karl would be next to take advantage of Buckles� rather ill-handling racecar as the defending Ohio Stock champion would race Buckles side by side for a handful of laps before pulling into the runner-up position on lap five. The two Karls would then duel each other on lap six, with the younger Jerry Karl beating out the older for the lead.

Deeper in the field, fast qualifier Rich Clingan was making noise after starting farther back in the field. Clingan had reached the runner-up position by lap seven and had begun working on running down Jerry Karl and the Tony K�s Bar and Grille machine. Despite the lap traffic of Randy Wedell allowing Clingan to draw side by side with Karl with just three laps to go, Jerry Karl was able to motor to the win over Rich Clingan, Jeff Karl, Julia Buckles, Randy Wedell, Rick Funnell, and Rich Walcher.
