Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Note: Susil Crags will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Winter had started to fall on the land and snow began to blanket the fields and forests. Thick fur coats had thickened more, making the petite female look even more aflame than normal. No matter how much her sun touched coat made her look like a fire that burned the flames did not completely protect her from the harsher bites of winter. The wind was fierce, piercing through all the way down to her thick chocolate undercoat. She was small, and she was young, she knew the cold could come to grip her fast if she were not careful.

Loping easily through the land, she searched for shelter, her tongue rolling out in the pleasure of an adventure. Chilly and unpleasant, she wasn’t in danger yet and so her mind created a story for her journey. She was not fleeing the cold grips of father winter’s hands! Instead she was on a quest for her faerie friends! Normally curled up with rabbits and weasels for warmth, the spirits’ families had grown too vast for the small creatures. Now they took refuge in her fur, protected from the cold unless the wind blew. On her adventure, the maiden had run across a monster hiding in a fallen log! A creature of evil could sense the innocent lives she was carrying on her back. Of course she had to stop and vanquish it! Leaping too and fro and the wind and the snow! The battle was epic and wounds were heavy on both sides, considering how many splinters she had to spit out, but victory was her’s! She carried on her travels, head held high and tail waving proudly.

Her paws carried her into the craigs of Moladion. The wind died down, blocked by the cliffs and the caves. She could hear the sounds of running water in the depths of the mazes of rocks. Panting happily, she followed the sound knowing she would not only find fresh water, but also it would be warm enough that water had not frozen. At last she found the sheltered spring and yipped with her success. She trotted to the water and lapped up a few mouthfuls before laying next to it.

”There you go my friends!” She whispered, shrugging the imaginary faeries off her shoulders. ”We are safe and warm here.” Pleased with herself, she was nothing but smiles. Slowly, reality started to set in and her smile faded ever so slightly. With a sigh, she set her reddened head on her chocolate paws, wondering absently if she would find others who would delight in the play and create a fantasy around themselves like she did.

”I doubt it.” She mumbled offhandedly to one of the faeries who had returned to her to comb their hands through her whiskers.
