Jaeger's dark ears pricked at the boy's words. "Brother?" He repeated, his tail giving a short few wags. Suddenly, there was what felt to be a bolt of lightning piercing his skull and he whined, shaking his head, trying to rid himself from the pain. "Orifel." He said with a strained gasp, unsure of where the name had come from, but knowing it to be the name of the rainbow-eyed wolf before him. It made sense, then, that they would be brothers. And the site of his memory must have been his birth-den. There had been others there, a mother, a father, another brother and a sister. But they were hazy and foggy, and try as he might he simply couldn't recall any faces or names.
"The wolf who attacked me, he said..." Jaeger screwed up his face, as if the words were the most unpleasant thing that he could say. "Hinc tibi submovendus stultitia. It repeats in my ears, over and over again... Can you make it stop? Please?" The red-breasted boy appeared to be begging, desperate by this point, simply wishing for it to be over. It was a horrible thing, hearing the worst words ever spoken to you repeated ad infinitum, over and over and over.
"You said 'Jaeger, tandem quidam ex vobis, fortitudinem!' in that memory I have. The only one I have. I... Jaeger seemed strangely familiar, so I figured that it was my name. You are the only one I remember, though I can sense that there were more I just... can't see them." He sighed and shook his head slightly. This was all very distressing. His memories, his personality, had all been ripped from him, like the very core of his being had been torn from him and tossed into the wind. He could only hope to recover some of the pieces.
Jaeger looked downwards as Orifel defended their grandfather, even with a twinge of desperation in his voice, as if there was no way that he could believe it. The boy was inclined to believe him. Those memories- Heyel had not been aggressive, nor had his voice been harsh like the one repeating in his ears. "I... I believe you." Jaeger mumbled, almost ashamed for thinking something that was so absurd. But it had seemed so true. "But then this wolf, he was identical. And now he tortures me, speaking those words again and again... what do they mean?"
He nodded slightly as Orifel mentioned going home. "Diveen, parents, okay..." Jaeger gave a small whine and looked up at his brother, his violet eyes full of fear. "You promise I'll be safe?"
