1966SWC Willard A. Belcher was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for meritorious service while serving as the Assistant OIC of the NMCB-8 Advance Party deployed to Vietnam and while serving as Assistant OIC of the detached unit at Hue/Phu Bai.

1967Lcdr Y. Young, CEC, USN, 31NCR visited NMCB-62 at Camp Campbell.

1968Eight 82mm rounds impacted within Camp Campbell damaging 18 pieces of Alpha Company equipment.
31 NMCB-62 Alpha Company men (the first half of a total of 50 Equipment Operators and 12 Construction Mechanics) were deployed north to Phu Bai to augment NMCB-121s Alpha Company, to assist in the upgrading of Route 1. An additional 31 Alpha Company men joined the Detail on 29 March 1968
CAPT C.W. Turner, and his relief, CAPT J.R. Fisher, CEC, USN, visited NMCB-58 at the Hoi An construction site.
NMCB-58 Detail Alpha Three, consisting of from 18 to 33 enlisted men deployed TAD to NMCB-133 at Phu Bai providing equipment support until 24 July 1968.
CDR W.K. Hartell, CEC, USN, CO NMCB-11; LCDR M.L. Odom, CEC, USN, Operations Officer, and LT R.G. McManus, CEC, USN, Alpha Company Commander, arrived at NMCB-10s camp for a predeployment inspection visit.
NMCB-10s Detail November rejoined the battalion from Hai Lang after completing their road project.
The NMCB-4 Field Mess at Camp Evans served its first meal at noon and completely supported the Seabee Camp at Evans.
A total of 85 MCB-9 personnel departed Camp Hoover for duty north: 32 men for security augmentation at the Hill 494 quarry and 53 men (Detail Foxtrot) for support of road construction in the northern I Corps at NMCB-8s camp at Phu Bai.
A 20 man detail (CBMU-301) was sent to Hue to repair huts and other structures in the MACV Compound which were damaged during the 1968 TET Offensive. LTJG W.A. Anderson was OIC. Many of the buildings sustained major structural damage. Repairs were made to the buildings as well as the water and power distribution systems within the compound. A water tower and tank were constructed in addition to 3 SEA Huts. Extensive re-roofing work was performed and 4 personnel bunkers were constructed. The Detail returned to the CBMU-301 Main Body in May

1970Seabee Team 0516 was disestablished.
NMCB-5s Main Body flights seven and eight departed CONUS by air for Da Nang.

197129 NMCB-74 Detail Kilo personnel rejoined the Battalion at CBC Bien Hoa after being relieved by NMCB-5 personnel.
NMCB-5s Detail Bronco, consisting of 1 Officer and 66 Enlisted deployed to Ta Kao to relieve NMCB-74s Detail Kilo in the construction of a 30-man ACTOV Radar site and cantonment for the Vietnamese Navy on the top of the 442 meter south knoll of Nui Ta Kou; the construction oa 2-mile double bituminous surface treated access road to the radar site, the construction of a 100-man base camp,and the upgrading of five miles of access roadfrom QL-1 to the base camp.
NMCB-3s Detail Fornax returned to Camp Haskins South from Ba To Airfield after completing the installation of airfield matting.
