1967…CDR B.L. Saravia, NMCB-40 Commanding Officer, was presented the Legion of Merit with Combat “V” from CAPT Marschall.
…The second increment of the NMCB-11 Advance Party, consisting of 1 officer and 99 enlisted men, deployed from CBC Port Hueneme via VR-21 aircraft to the Dong Ha Forward Combat Base. The first increment of the Advance Party moved from Da Nang to Dong Ha during this and the subsequent two week period.
…CDR J.F. O’Leary relieved CDR P.A. Phelps as Commanding Officer NMCB-8 during Change of Command ceremonies at the NMCB-8 Rosemary Point, Chu Lai basecamp.
1968…NMCB-121 reopened the Chrismas Eve Bridge at YD 948068. 40 feet of decking was repaired and 20 feet were replaced.
1969…NMCB-121 drove the last pile for the reconstruction of the Song Nong Railroad Bridge.

1971…CNO announced the award of the Meritorius Unit Commendation to Seabee Team 1015 for the period January to September 1970.
…Two platoons of VC forces attacked local RF Forces with mortar and ground fire adjacent to the Detail Kilo site at Nui Ta Kou. No contact was made by Detail Kilo. Later in the morning, two enemy mines were located on Route 341. The first mine, a 30 lb. pressure release type, was detonated in place. The second mine was detonated by a stray cow. Detail Kilo personnel received no injuries.
1972…Capt. John Ripley, USMC, almost single-handedly brings down the bridge at Dong Ha (MCB-62, 1969) to halt the NVA Easter Offensive
