John R., that was a very nice post about Tom..where he hailed from, his service, and finally his working record back in Waterloo...On our graduation tour our 19 member class from Greeley Iowa toured the John Deere tractor plant in Waterloo and the Quaker Oats Milling factory in Cedar Rapids... I have always most noted Waterloo for a 3rd grade class news report I did about the 5 Sullivan Brothers from Waterloo perishing at sea when a Japanese submarine sank the navy warship they were all serving on... Tom, we trod the same paths both in civilian life as well as the life the Seabees offered us.. thank you for your service...it was needed and I'm sure, very much appreciated it...My own home was over in Delaware County living on share-cropper farms so navy life was a very premium for me compared to the drudgery of farm life....Land sakes, how I used to hate cleaning chicken coops in the winter time!!!
