1966…Bishop Meuller, President of the World Council of Churches, conducted an Easter Service adjacent to Camp Hoover.

1967…NMCB-71 begins it’s first of two RVN deployments at Camp Shields, Chu Lai relieving NMCB-40 which was completing it’s first RVN deployment

1968…Camp Evans received 12 rocket rounds with one of the rockets landing within the Seabee camp perimeter. No NMCB-4 personnel were injured, nor was any equipment damaged.

1969…Radm Dillon and Capt powell toured NMCB-12 construction projects in the Da Nang East area and the Dien Ban area. Also on this date, the detachment at Quang Tri started the operational production of asphalt.

1970…A Seabee Team 6203 dump truck detonated a 2 kg landmine on a project site in Dinh Tuong Province, resulting in severe damage to the truck and one Vietnamese trainee was wounded.

1971…25 NMCB-74 Detail Juliett personnel departed Mui Dinh by LST for Can Ranh Bay enroute to Bien Hoa.
…1 officer and 12 enlisted men rejoined NMCB-74 at CBC Bien Hoa from Detail Kilo at Nui Ta Kao
…CDR J.L. Godsey, CEC, USN, and UTCM J.H. Herrera, USN, NMCB-3 Commanding Officer and Senior Enlisted Advisor, visited Details Aquarius, Borealis, and Dorado.
…NMCB-3’s Detail Jupiter completed shoulder upgrade on QL-1 from tam Ky to Thanh Quit.
…NMCB-3 completed the two 30-foot aircraft shelters at FASU, Da Nang Airbase.
…NMCB-3’s Detail Taurus returned to Camp Haskins South from Chu lai after completing pier and POL facilities.
…NMCB-3’s Detail Venus returned to Camp Haskins South from Hieu Doc, Quang Nam Province.
