1967…LCDR A.S. Poole, Jr., CEC, USN, relieved LCDR T.N. Tate, CEC, USN, as OIC CBPAC DET RVN.
…NMCB-3’s MARS Station was activated and began operations for all commands in the Gia Le Combat Base.
…The 75-ton Eagle rock crusher assigned to NMCB-11 was made fully operational.
…Nightime artillery attack on Dong Ha with I man wounded.
…NMCB-4 completed its airfield maintenance project at Khe Sanh, a Strongback for 1st MP Btn at Da Nang, a Mortuary at Da Nang, and PX for 7th Marines, and 6 Strongback huts for ITT Teams 3 and 9.

1968… NMCB-58 began a project at Hoi An for the Province Maintenance Center (L7014, 6658 I; 146573). The Battalion was to provide equipment and technical assistance in the construction of a 54’x100’ Eiffel Steel truss building with a concrete deck and grease rack. Technical assistance was being provided by Seabee Team 5801 and was 20% complete when the project was turned over to NMCB-62.

1969…NMCB-133 Detail Zulu under SWC K.W. Lowe, USN, completed movement by air to the Saigon area. Operational control changed to COM3NCB REP Saigon.
…NMCB-53 Commanding Officer visited Camp Campbell at Phu Bai for NMCB-40’s change of command and visited NMCB-53’s crusher and asphalt detail at Vinh Dai on a 3 day trip.
…CAPT J.E. Powell, CEC, USN, COM30NCR, was on board Camp Haskins North for an NMCB-53 mid-deployment briefing.
…Phu bai Combat Base came under 122mm rocket attack at about 0120 and 0200. No rounds were received within Camp Campbell.
…NMCB-53’s BU3 D.F. Hovanec was killed as a result of an accidental discharge of a .45 caliber pistol at the Battalion’s Lang Co Bridge detail.

1970…NMCB-62 Detail Quincy, consisting of 1 officer and 14 Alpha Company personnel, deployed in support of Operation Elk Canyon.
…NMCB-62 Detail Portland, consisting of 2 men, detached from Detail Albany at Binh Thuy to provide administrative and logistical support to NMCB-62 personnel in Military Region IV.
…VADM J.H. King, Jr. COMNAVFORV and party visited NMCB-5’s Detail Golf at Nam Can.
…At 0300, four rounds of 122mm rockets impacted in Camp Eagle Combat Base. No NMCB-10 casualties.
