CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.
Messages posted in the last 24 hrs. are in White.

Following the discovery of suspected illegal immigrants hiding underneath coach that had returned from a Battlefield Study (BFS) tour in France, all units are reminded to maintain appropriate security practices to vehicles used for official transport (e.g. Adventurous Training, Battlefield Tours, etc.) from mainland Europe.

There is an increased threat posed by the high number of illegal immigrants congregating in and around French ports. The instances of illegal immigrants attempting to hide on, or in vehicles travelling to the UK are growing.

These attempts have been carried out against vehicles from numerous countries of origin, carrying people of varied professions; it is therefore assessed as unlikely that the British military personnel involved in this incident were targeted.

It is requested that units participating in official business and returning to the UK via ferry ports from mainland Europe complete regular checks for stowaways hiding on or in their vehicle or vehicles. This is to be completed prior to sailing and then again following disembarkation in the UK when practicable preferably still within the confines of their arrival port area.

Should any incident occur where individuals are located personnel are advised to report the circumstances to the appropriate Police or Border Control service which has jurisdiction for where they are situated.

Personnel should also consider visiting the online sites below for travel and security advice.

The French government has launched a free smartphone app to alert users about possible security incidents, including all major natural, technological and terrorist-related risks. Users will be able to view alerts for up to eight geographical areas. The app, called SAIP (Système d’alerte et d’information des populations) is available in English and French.
