CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.
Messages posted in the last 24 hrs. are in White.

Crack and Thump of bullets overhead,
The booming and the ever restless sound,
of shells, which burst, and make the space around
the trench a place of fear, where lie the dead.
And those poor souls, who wounds and pain have wed
To death, their message bear...Beneath the ground
The Fusiliers wait, Courage and fire abound
In every heart of those British bred.

Somewhere In the safety of a London den, a senior soldier waved his pen.
It seems that one brave band must go, he picked the best, why was this so?
Surely a man of such proud stature and position, top of his army profession.
Would not be so crass as to send to their fate the finest, the best, as deemed by all.
But such fine thoughts were not his style, and were taken oe’r by tawdry self interest.
And he saved his own, thus being so selfish as to deny the Nation of our glorious Second.
It led me yesterday to Warwick, to see the Colours behind which so much was won.
Placed lovingly down , they were never once defeated by force of arms.
How painful then for me to know as I marched that we had been done.
Victim of a cowardly stab in the back by someone not fit to serve in their ranks.

To All who served in The Second Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers

God Bless You.

Joe. Eastwood BEM CQSW.
