HOW FAR WE HAVE COME! IP: 18.104.22.168 Posted on October 21, 2016 at 10:07:16 AM by JOHN WILBORN
ON THIS DAY
On Oct. 21, 1879, Thomas Edison invented a workable electric light at his laboratory in Menlo Park, N.J.
Electricity is considered in these times to be so very necessary just to be able to survive....natures storms that cause vast power failures anywhere in the world are life-threatening events...Anyone, such as myself on a
mid-western, share-cropper style farm, existed and survived without electricity, running water, and
indoor plumbing....Inhabitants of the desert southwest summers, now considered to be life-threatened
without electrical powered conveinances, did quiet well year around....there is a tale about the
Native American hanging a wet blanket over the entrance of his tee-pee....getting married in June and
on and on...when did the pick-up truck replace the covered wagon? JW Replies: There have been no replies.
