1967… Seabee Team 1109 redeployed to CBC Port Hueneme from Chaianf Kham Thailand after competing its deployment which began on 25 April 1967,
…The first increment of the NMCB-5 Advance Party arrived at Camp Barnes.
…On 14 November 1967, NMCB-10 was ordered to redeploy once again, this time to the newly laid out Quang Tri Forward Combat Base. After two and one-half moving, NMCB-10 finally had its own base of operations and area of responsibility

NMCB-10 relocated it’s base camp from Gia LeForward Combat Base to Quang Tri Airfield Forward Combat Base (formerly known as Site “X”)
…NMCB-3 awarded 1 Purple Heart. (MCB-3 DCR ’67-’68)
…1st increment of NMCB-58’s Advance Party arrived at NMCB-1’s base camp at Camp Haskins
…NMCB-5’s Advance Party arrived at Dong Ha. NMCB-11’s final days on deployment to Dong Ha were drawing to a close. Seabee Team 1109 detached from Thailand and returned to Port Hueneme. The Team’s OIC, LTjg Bruce Geibel, returned to Dong Ha for duty and was subsequently sent to Port Hueneme to join the Advance Party making ready for the Battalion’s return to their homeport.

1968…Railroad bridge #1, the first of 3 around Lap An Bay being rebuilt by NMCB-1’s Detail Foxtrot, was completed and carried its first train since being originally blown up

1969… NMCB-1 completed construction of a 40’ observation tower at Vinh Gia (VS 770-600) The completed tower comprised three 50’ legs with 4”x12” timbers providing decking for a wood framed plywood guardhouse. 15” of decking extended beyond the guardhouse for sandbagging.
The tower was built in two sections at An Thoi and shipped by YFU to Ha Tien. From there a CH-47 helicopter airfifted the sections to Ving Gia where builders secured the house to the tower.
…NMCB-74 received information that personnel from the Battalion participating in disaster recovery operstions during and after Hurricane Camille were awarded the Navy Unit Commendation by SECNAV.
…Seabee Team 6202 redeployed from Go Cong to CBC Gulfport
…RADM Dillon, CEC, USN, COM3NCB, CDR C.V.W. Popowich, CEC, USN, Commanding Officer NMCB-1, and party made a tour of the Delta construction sites.

1970…The last NMCB-62 Main Body flight with the Commanding Officer aboard, departed Da Nang for CBC Gulfport.
