…The unexpected occurrence of two 25 year storms in late September 1967, brought all of Northern I Corps to a dangerously low fuel reserve of one day. From 21 October to 17 November a 24 hour work schedule prevailed for NMCB-7 to complete an entire multi-fuel delivery system, from tank to truck. A subsequent and detailed trouble-shooting follow up on the system brought the project to a fully operational state later in the deployment. The finished system had a combined storage capacity of 59,000 barrels of diesel, AVGAS, MOGAS, and JP_4 fuels, an individual fuel delivery rate of 600 gallons per minute, and a material in-place cost of $1,649,582 (1967 dollars)-the most expensive of NMCB-7’s projects
