1967…Seabee Team 0807 deployed from CBC Port Hueneme to Diem Khanh.

1968…CDR Shockey, CO NMCB-9 visited NMCB-121 at Camp Campbell.
…VC blew a concrete culvert at map coordinates AD 012 030. NMCB-121 constructed a “Hasty” bridge to keep traffic moving.
…CDR R.M. Fluss, CEC, USN, CO, NMCB-4 and staff arrived on board NMCB-10’s Quang Tri camp for a pre-deployment inspection and departed on 15 January 1968.
…NMCB-3’s three dump trucks and 3 operators and 1 mechanic returned to Camp Wilkinson from being TAD to NMCB-11 where they had been working in support of Route 561 construction.
…The NMCB-3 Operations Officer and A Company Commander were performing a road reconnaissance for the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division when the second vehicle on their convoy, carrying the NMCB-8 Operations Officer, A Company Commander, and Operations Chief, struck a mine. All three NMCB-8 personnel were wounded.

…MCB-9 SWF3 J.R. Couch, drowned while swimming near Red Beach, Da Nang Bay. His body was recovered of 16 January by a U.S. Marine Combined Action Platoon near Nam O.
…MCB-5 completed five large modules in the Ammunition Supply Point at Dong Ha, thereby doubling it’s capacity. An extension of a mess hall, 100 tin roof huts, five rigid frame buildings, a bakery and a fire station were among other projects completed during January by MCB-5 in the Dong Ha cantonment area.
…Prior to being relieved by MCB-53, MCB-7 completed the NSA Da Nang blood bank and urology building. Other projects completed by MCB-7’s Da Nang-based Seabees included an operating services building, an armory, and the third increment of the Camp Tien Sha barracks rehabilitation project.

1969…NMCB-12 completed Cooper Bridge and opened the bridge to light traffic
…0205-Red Alert at Camp Wilkinson when four 122mm rocket rounds impacted within the camp with a direct hit upon the Head in officers’ country. Minor damage and no casualties.
…NMCB-10 Detail Oscar departed Battalion base camp for Saigon where they joined the men from Detail Mike to construct advance PBR bases.

1972…CBMU-302 Advance Party, Detail Linus departed Vietnam for CBC Port Hueneme
