On Feb. 15, 1898, the U.S. battleship Maine blew up in Havana Harbor, killing 260 crew members and escalating tensions with Spain.

Ultimately, the subject war seemed to be so inconsequential, little if anything is known or written about it...There is some mentioning of Theodore Roosevelt charging up San Juan
Hill in Cuba, I think it was...Back then there was a repeated rhyme, REMEMBER THE MAINE
as later in REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR...both expressions and times faded into obscurity and are not even taught in our school systems history lessons...WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS....some remembered by those involved, but soon, with their passing's, forgotten.JW
