1967…NMCB-8 Advance Party departed Rosemary Point, Chu Lai for CBC Port Hueneme.
…6 Purple Heart Medals, 1 navy Commendation Medal, 1 Good Conduct Medals, 7 Letters of Commendation and 3 Letters of Appreciation were awarded to NMCB-4 personnel by COM30NCR, CAPT A.R. Marschall.
…All NMCB-4 personnel at Khe Sanh returned to Camp Hoover as the revetments and waterlines were completed.

1968…A rocket/mortar attack occurred in the Red Beach area of Da Nang. NMCB-62 personnel remained in their mortar holes from 1950 to 2050. No rounds impacted in Camp Haskins South.
…Two enemy 122mm rockets impacted in Camp Haskins North with no damage or casualties.
…NMCB-11 Awards Ceremony presentations were made by CAPT J.Hill, CEC, USN and CDR W.K. Hartell, CEC, USN.
…One artillery attack on Cua Viet. On both 13 and 14 June rounds impacted within CBMU-301 Detail Charlie’s area at Cua Viet. The electrical shop was destroyed, two new 150kw generators and nine pieces of construction and material handling equipment were damaged
…Camp Haskins North received two 122mm rocket rounds which landed near the Alpha Company Shops. No NMCB-4 personnel were injured.

1969…The last I-beam is lifted into place to complete the back bone of the Cam Lo bridge. The “first-of-it’s- kind” bridge, built by NMCB-62, looked like a series of tables placed end to end with no diagonal bracing
…RADM J.G. Dillon, CEC, USN, COM3NCB and CAPT A.W. Walton Jr., CEC, USN, COM32NCR, visited NMCB-133 road construction crews working on QL-1 near Phu Gia Pass. CAPT Walton toured additional NMCB-133 job sites in the Phu Bai-Gia Le area.
…NMCB-58 set Condition Yellow at Camp Shields at 1110 when an undetermined number of rockets impacted near the MAG-12 flight line. Nearby NMCB-58 crews received no casualtities.
…LTGEN Buss, USMC, CGFMFPAC, visited NMCB-5 at Camp Hoover.
…NMCB-11’s Advance Party arrived at Camp Haines.

1970…The first increment of NMCB-62 Detail Juneau, consisting of four Alpha Company personnel, deployed to LZ Baldy relieving NMCB-7 of upgrade responsibility of QL-1 south.
…NMCB-7’s Detail Lims, consisting of 4 enlisted men, returned to Camp Shields after completing their well drilling operations at the various Chu Lai area LZ’s.
…NMCB-7’s Detail Oscar, consisting of 8 enlisted men, returned to Camp Shields after completing their CIDG water system projects.
…NMCB-7’s Detail Juliet, consisting of 1 Officer and 148 Enlisted men, rejoined the Battalion after completing their work at LZ Baldy and LZ Ross.

1985…Steelworker 2nd Class Robert D. Stethem of Underwater Construction Team 1 was killed by militant Shi'ite hijackers of TWA Flight 847. He later received a Bronze Star for his heroism
