…At Camp Evans, an NMCB-4 crew constructed an underground messing bunker for the commanding general of the 1st Air Cavalry. It was a 20’ x 10-0’ rigid frame building with two layers of sand-bags and a layer of waterproofing on the roof.
1969…RADM W.M. Heaman, CEC, USN, COMCBPAC, visited NMCB-53 at Camp Haskins North.
…The “Kings Cross Review” put on a show for the NMCB-4 personnel at Camp Adenir. The show was enjoyed by all.
1970…NMCB-62 Detail Kilgore, consisting of 3 men, deployed to Hoi An to drill and develop three wells for the 2nd ROK Marine Brigade.
…NMCB-62 Detail Hollywood, consisting of 1 officer and 56 enlisted men, deployed to Tan Chau. Military Region IV, to construct a Vietnamese Naval ACTOV Base.
